Lyrics
IN CORAM FIELDS
Words and Music Franciscus Henri (ALBERT MUSIC)

Walk with me in Coram fields
There’s a friend that you should meet there
There’s a song in Coram fields
That you should know
A song of dance, a song of dying
A song of laughter, a song of crying
The gentle song of green leaves
Falling to the ground

Hold my hand in Coram fields
Too many times are dreams forgotten
There are dreams in Coram fields
That you should know
A dream of dance, a dream of dying
A dream of laughter, a dream of crying
The gentle dream of a yellow flower
In the snow

What do you hear in Coram Fields?
I hear the sound of children laughing
I hear the swinging of a bell
No yesterdays and no tomorrow
All will be well,
All will be well,
All will be well again,

Search for me in Coram fields
You’ll find me in your doubting moment
I found love in Coram fields
And you will too
A love of dance
A love of dying
A love of laughter
A love of crying
The gentle love of a soul travelling homeward

Walk with me in Coram fields

It's back - what happened? As I said, beautifully done. Sydney would be pleased!

My brain was still in Tokyo.....
and I down loaded the wrong mix (too much reverb)
I deliberately used Sydney's imagery and the title refers to a poem of the same title.

The lyrics are poetic and flowing, Franc. As is the melody. The song drifts along like a dream. Impressive work, as always. Thanks. Take care.

incongruously I wrote the song while in a very chilly Tokyo...
goes to show....though I'm not sure what.

Your music...
...fits the dream-like narrative you've composed. I initially thought Coram Fields might be a grave yard, so I Googled it. Hummm...Not so... Rather, a delightful place for children to play without a care in the world. Your gentle voice conveys the serenity of the place and the promise of peacefulness that it offers. Beautifully conceived and sung, without garnish or superfluous embellishment. Beautifully simple. Just beautiful.

Thank you Paul
and full marks for finding this special place....It has a beautiful and poignant history. I hope the song captures some of that.

This is a nice tune, and makes for an enjoyable listen. I like how you threw that long delay on the vocals when singing the lead line, and I REALLY like how you held off coming back in on the vocal line and instead just let that delay run its course - brilliant! enjoyed - thanks Fransiscus!

Lovely song. I like the gentle flute-like sound that floats through the music.

I found this strangely attracting...
But then again I like ballads. This one pulled me from the start. Your vocals work well in this and the instruments all fit.

Nicely done!
