Description
This is No. 178 from my "By The Numbers" series of piano solos. I had considered "Begging The Question" as a subtitle, but concluded that the "question" had already been asked and was simply (is anything simple?) waiting for an answer, one that, inevitably, is never to come. There may be a story here, or an experience, or something that will stir your memory or your heart...or both. It is a gentle piece. If you are looking for that at this particular time, I hope it fills the bill. ...The score can be found here:

So subtle.
Wow, this is just another example of the way you sometimes manage to say a huge amount with so little. No fuss, just emotional playing and a tune that says something indefinable. There's an ache in this piece that fits many situations and yes, it fits the title perfectly too. Thanks for posting, yet another tune from MacJams that I began to download before it finished playing.

As always
a joy although there is something a little more special about this.

I don't know what it is but there is almost a resigned feel. You know the question isn't going to be answered but actually, it doesn't matter as you're comfortable with how it is.

A beautiful piece and like the others, thanks for the download.

Cheers

Dick

Sublime
This started playing when I opened up my laptop this morning (getting ready to teach music to Kindergarteners) and it helped me relax and feel good about the day (it's Friday). Thanks! Very nice piece of music.

Happy to be asked questions like this any time, Paul. Gentle and understated but so beautiful along with it. The answer is an emphatic, yes!
Take care.

This one reminds me a bit of Andre Gagnon, although this song features much more subtle and varied emotions. It certainly makes you ponder and wonder 'what if...?'. Thank you and cheers.

A touch of Gershwin.
At least to my ears. I think you could lay out ten titles including what you've chosen and this would easily win.
Thank you Paul - wonderful.
Cheers,
Charlie

You do realize that there is already a famous piece by that title?

There is a lot of loveliness in this piece (things like the D-A in measure 11, both of which don't fit the chord, but get kinda-sorta resolved so they never sound wrong), but I must say that this piece has a couple of passages that don't work for me. For instance measure 13-14 feels like it wants to modulate to something, but I'm not convinced about either the path or the goal.

Hundred and seventy eight? Man, that's a lot of piano playing..... Kudos!

The phrasing...
...does have a sense of questioning...

As if a follow up piece will take to some clearer place...
