Description
This tune was originally uploaded to MJ in Feb. 2007. It came down in 2008 and has since remained in the graveyard of forgotten songs. I came across it not too long ago. So this is a remix... and I think a better mix, one that includes a better percussion track that I think helps carry the song along. I hope you'll enjoy this late reprise of Late Night Reflections...

From the original song description 2007:
I started this song as a sketch about two years ago. A few months ago, sitting out on my front stoop late one night... a beautiful star-lit night... led to a few moments of thought and reflection, and to what has become a good portion of the lyrics for this song.

A partial 2007 comment on the original from the ever gracious Ed Hannifin (the artist formerly know as Ejh):
...it's a good song, Jack, and once again it'll get ya compared, in my book, with that other guy, the Dylan fellow... I was given a collection of Dylan's faith based tunes sung by other people called Gotta Serve Somebody last year, and this tune wouldn't be out of place on there...
Ed, thanks again for this gracious comment.

Lyrics
Walking through that open door
Wondering if I've been here before.
Another day, another turn
Is there something for me to learn.

Well I don't know and I can't say.
On my knees again I pray.
Wisdom whispers in my ear,
Calls a halt to my faithless fear.

Refrain:
And the conviction grows
Within my heart and within my soul.
And the silence echoes
That Voice I've come to know.

Chorus:
Can't get enough of His Love (4X)

The stillness of the star lit night,
The black sky speaks of His delight.
A soulful moment's pause to keep,
Eternal thoughts of my heartbeat.

Well I don't know and I can't say.
On my knees again I pray.
Wisdom whispers in my ear,
Reminding me of all that's dear.

Refrain:
And the conviction grows
Within my heart and within my soul.
And the silence echoes
That Voice I've come to know.

Chorus

Good memory...
Over nine years ago. Many good memories. Thanks, my friend, for DL and even more taking time to listen to a song from the past. Blessings...

Can't get enough of your songs
You've got the folk rock thing down pat. This is nicely played and sung.

I like the way you articulate the phrase "Can't get enough of ..." In fact, maybe that should be the title of the song, "Can't Get Enough of His Love"?

The drum track is perky. I'd like to hear a couple of fills, say in the chorus, just to add a touch of variation.

I'm glad you are reposting some of these old gems.

Can't get enough...
Folk rock, like a comfortable old shoe, I guess. Thanks for nice comments on the song. As far as the title, I just added above an explanation from the original song description 2007. Apart from that, I agree, the title seems a little curious. Cheers...

As Cori said
I have this somewhere on an old Mac, but the rubber bands on it's power supply have worn out (and the hamsters are tired) :)
Sounds clean and well performed. I'd probably cut the lower frequencies on the kick drum a bit, but that's just me.
Keep em coming Jack.
Cheers from Oz,
Neil

Power supply...
i.e. mine is also about worn out. Thanks, Neil. It's always good to hear from an oldie but goodie, especially one who keeps turning out such quality music. Best to you in Oz.

A Gentle Conviction
This flows along like a leaf floating in the wind. We all face the fears and stumble in the way humans do. Quiet acceptance of what is all around us is the only way to bring peace to our hearts.
