Description
In the early days of MacJams I had a notion to try and write a song for every genre - thinking that would be a good artistic challenge. That idea quickly got abandoned when the categories rapidly expanded. Most times when developing a song I don't specifically start out thinking in terms of genre, but there are exceptions .. like this piece of scatological homespun humor where I knew it was earmarked for Bluegrass from the start : )

Lyrics
FECAL FLASH [Buckley/Smith]

My intestines were protestin’
Even tried to stop digestin’
So I pulled one out
And threw it on the floor
Gave it two or three good licks
With a big ol’ hic’ry stick
Told it I ain’t gonna take no shit no more
Stuck it back inside my bod’
Torqued it down so goddamn hard
I was absolutely certain it would stay
Ate some deepfried Southern grits
Got them deepfried Southern shits
I didn’t leave the pot for twenty days
But my guts do what they’re told
So the pot was filled with gold
Bowel bustin’ bullion pile high
As I stretched my legs and yawned
The small fortune I had spawned
Shot a rainbow cross the early morning sky
It exploded in the sun
As if God had got his gun
Showering the countryside with cash
When I step out on the street
People stop and kiss my feet
‘Cause I’m the guy who had the fecal flash

Oh my...
As someone who worships this genre, I can suggest you flush.
Bathroom humor is the common denominator.

scatological humor
Well, that's different. I must admit I'm hoping this genre doesn't take off too much... However, your ability with rhyming couplets is again on display and the instrumentation is entertaining.

One-off
Different, yes, but still just story-telling. Rest easy; there are no plans for a follow-up song : )

Love it - the instrumental stuff is almost as inspired as the lyrics.

Fecal Flash
Hard to respond to this. Perhaps it is more browngrass bluegrass... :-) Interesting to hear how you wove your signature descending lines into a bluegrass vibe at the end. Clever and "just a bit different", as always.
