Description
A song that didn't start out being about fathers day. Then it sort of did. This is for you and me dad.

Lyrics
The fields were barely frozen
And The sky was a winter blue
I slept the whole night with my clothes on
Drank a bottle of wine or two

I dreamed, I dreamed I was making my way down A slippery road
Yeah I dreamed I was a winner
And I forgot about the cold

See my mother sitting by the window
Waiting for my dad to come home from his war
There's a road that runs along a river
And I know that road like the back of my hand

I dreamed ,I dreamed I was making my way down a slippery road
I dreamed I was a winner
And I forgot about the cold

Ohhhhhhhhhh I dreamed I was a winner
Ohhhhhhhhhh I forgot about the cold
There is a river that runs between us
There's a road yeah and we know it so well

Moaning guitars
Splendid. The talk box is on "Alvin". The vocals are laid so far back yesterday is in sight.
All the things we love. You must know if ya had put the cross harp on there... the granola peeps might have reached Nirvana. But ya held that back. Well done!

Nicely set up Tim
Something I've learnt only recently is how hard it is to pull off a slow song. You've done well with this here. The lazy backing works - and the vocal too. At first the fx on the second voice threw me, but over the length of the song I became pretty fascinated by it.
I'd have liked to have heard your lead voice a bit more strongly towards the end, but only because I thought it might sound better with the surreal vocal playing off against it if it was more audible. Sometimes the little triplet thing on the ride interrupted my train of thought a bit, but I liked the way you varied the drums through the various sections.
On my second listen, Im enjoying the song more - a really interesting approach, and one I expect you'll be justifiably quite proud of.
Cheers from Oz,
Neil

Real Music
There was a time when a trip to Kmart was sublime. Every week new things to find .... The Band .... Moby Grape .... Grateful Dead .... so much goodness and innovation. This took me back there. Will be back for a download..... Really nice track.

Am Never Disappointed Listening to Your Work...
As I began listening, this feltlike Cowboy Junkies. I didn't necessarily "get" the song... but I did want to relisten, usually a good thing. Your guitar sounds are pleasingly unordinary and confident sounding production-wise. I am curious as to what the synthesizer is thinking/feeling/saying. I'm generally very lazy when it comes to 'getting' what someone is trying to say in a song, or a poem or a painting... and I believe this has pushed me through that barrier a bit. Thanks!

natural
Loved the ambient sound that matches the guitar. Vocals emote well and the mix sounds really good. Caught off guard with the synthetic vox, but it grew on me and I liked how you strategically carried it through the song. Not the usual which makes this work so well. Another enjoyable listen, thanks for sharing.

I like the clean sound. There is something familiar about this... maybe its because it is classic tmcfate

Loose and atmospheric, Tim. Really like it. Dreamy and introspective but accessible at the same time. The layered vocals sound great. Fine mix. Like the bass, too. Very good song. Thanks.
