Invention No. 8 for organ

Seven months ago, I purchased a Johannus "Vivaldi 370" digital organ: 60 voices, 73 ranks, 3 manuals. Quite a remarkable instrument (built in Holland) that I had every hope of recording directly into an iPad DAW, hoping I could reconstitute the WAV files into mp3s so I could send to MJ and to other friends. After many months of procrastination (I'd rather write than fiddle with recording dials), yesterday I had a breakthrough and figured out how to get this beast out of the box. My first attempt is presented here.
It is Invention No. 8 in my organ catalog. I hope you will enjoy this fledgling recording effort (2:16) The score is available here:

Well your technical and musical efforts have paid off handsomely. This piece is well suited to the organ in its style and you've given your instrument a good exercising in crafting this piece. I get a kind of melancholy to the music, as ego bandit mentioned, and yet it's not overpowering - just part of the spices in the flavouring. Nicely crafted, as usual, Paul. I think we're all spoiled at the high bar you set here for composition and performance! it's easy to think that pieces such as this can be just cranked out.

Thanks for the download and be well!

A sweet pleasure.
Lovely counterpoint. A classy baroque like work that would fit nicely in some well known composers canon.
Great to hear a new work from you Paul and to hear to gorgeous sounds from you new “Toy”.

I get
sombreness from Major chords. Isn't that some kind of irony? Entrancing. When it was over, I had to snap back to reality.
