Description
Here’s another rough demo from the files recorded live on a rare get together when I was back in the midlands. I’d already written the song and played it through to Steve a couple of times before doing a live take with him adding the slide guitar. A bit rough in parts but it reminds me of a rare afternoon. I think the clicking might be Steve’s wrist chain hitting the guitar body!

So far we have not managed to get back to do a proper recording: one day I hope. The shop is in Hitchin and is just as described, absolutely stuffed to the ceiling with all sorts of weird and wonderful ephemera.

Lyrics
Rosita Lollipop

Rosita Lollipop
Rosita open up your shop
Rosita let me come inside
Rosita I need somewhere to hide from the rain

Look around you got so much stuff
A feast for the eye’s I can’t get enough
Excuse me please while I just squeeze by
There’s something in the corner that’s caught my eye

Toy badgers cats and desperate Dan
Nice clothes for a lady
Or a cross dressing man

Focus
Not charming in the whimsical sense, yet everything is working on a great vibe level... I can hear the B-3 part, bass and drums.
Maybe it's a Kink's vibe, but just a bit short on storyline? The punch line works nicely, kinda looses something in the repeats. Guitars sound great.

Cheers Daug
Thanks for the comment and yes it could certainly do with a couple more verses to fill it out a bit. Like the idea of the Kinks reference. Hadn't thought of it at the time but "village green, Autumn Almanac etc"...see where you're coming from. Thanks for listening

Raw live...
capturing the inspiration of the song. Guitar is sweet and I dig your singing. This is just one cool live performance. Much enjoyed!

Super demo
I can't believe it's recorded on an iphone. Lovely, lazy tune and fun lyrics. Hope you finish it up.

Like this!
I'd like to hear another verse or two though. And I definitely agree with Daug that this is screaming out for a band treatment - especially the B3 bit ;)
Cheers from Oz,

Really liking the back porch vibe and the subtle, everyday lyrics. Great to hear some nice slide work, too. Just shooting the breeze. Nice one.
