Lyrics
Romeo is dirtier
than Juliet thought
Digging one hole
Has its cost
And Juliet like things her own way
And he thinks about her all the time
Yea he thinks about her all the time
Never could figure the price they paid
Took the car cause I was late to work today
I kissed your neck at least a thousand times
you burn so hot
all along the railroad lines
Romeo limps past the five and dime
And Juliet is looking at a new England sky
Three boys just about fifteen
Sittin on the stoops and I know
I know they are homeless
and they have run away
Money makes the world go round
you are stuck here till you can get out of town They've got no coats
and it is ten degrees
And, and I look back at them on my way home
And I, I was looking at me And I, I was looking at me
I saw the future
and I saw the past
Neon cowboy draws a line in the sand
Girls dance and you fall asleep so far from home
Romeo limps past the five and dime
And Juliet's looking at the new England sky
Both wondering where the times gone by
They both forget about there struggled past Its all about making a little time last
Digging one hole has its costs.

Amazing
Most people just walk by the homeless but you've been gifted with the inspiration to create a poetic backstory and sympathetic characterization. Well done.

Just a great track, lots of emotion. Guitar and keys work wonderfully together. Heartfelt vocals, Lou Reed kind of feel.....nice

Really enjoyed your delivery....sort of Tom Waits in style but very much your own story. Also enjoyed the subtle strings. good post.

Unique telling of a story that is repeated in every city, Tim. I like the unusual, sparse arrangement and your vocal delivery. Channeling an inner Dire Straits and early Counting Crows acoustic vibe? Impressive, as always. Thanks.

hi tim
i know you're always going to produce something different - and this is another stand alone gem. your vocal delivery sounds effortless as usual (because your lyrics are impossible to not deliver......as usual)
shades of john otway come to mind.....i was a big fan....until tmcfate came along of course ;)

looking at me
I've been passing the same homeless lady on the way to work for twelve years. She's my age and could pass for 'normal' the first year or two but now she's mummified from standing around outside. If I told you that I knew what to think about her I'd be lying. No idea.

I always liked your vocals and they're stronger now than what I remember. Really like the looking at me line. Has an old Springsteen vibe, the phrasing and the Romeo/Juliet theme. I like the abrupt ending too. Your stuff is always evocative and this is no different. DL'd.
