Description
A boy, a girl, the end of the world.
I wrote this song ages ago and I've tried to record it many times, but I never felt I got it right. You can hear 3 previous version here, and there are many other false starts clogging my hard drive. So, finally, at the 4millionth attempt i think this is about as good as I can get it! I hope you like it, dear listener. It's time for me to fixate on another song!!

Lyrics
Making love to you
In the flat at Winston Street
Maybe down below
There's a war beneath our feet
Sun is dying in the sky
Burning skin and blinding eyes
Morning curtains safe inside
Lager dead begin to rise

Here at the fall of the western world
We will spend our days in bed
Here at the fall of the western world
We'll avoid the larger dead

And the zombies roam
Clutching phones
Still going about their dreadful days

About their days

Half a day away
I never even knew your face
Now the world could end
We wouldn't even feel a trace
I will love you safe and sound
High above the battle ground
Giant robots come and go
Lost in love we'd never know

And the stars fall from the sky
And the moon crash in the sea
And the swarm hegemonizing
Will pass us by you and I

Making love with you
In the flat at Winston Street
Making love with you
Anywhere we damn well please
If we're the final boy and girl
Living out a dying world
To die by your side
The pleasure the privilege is mine

As good as it gets
Some songs are just like that - no matter how much effort you put into it, you never seem to capture the essence of it. Perhaps the concept itself - the Fall of the Western World - is simply too big to be contained? : )

That said - this sounds fresh to me! The harmonies are tight. The melody is catchy. And the light touch of the lover's music contrasts perfectly with the dreadful zombies roaming the streets below. Call it finished.

Upbeat downbeat
Such a happy background for the bizarre lyric. Fits perfectly. Thanks for sharing your work with us here.

The Fall
I think this sounds really good as it is. I love the chord structure with the harmonies - makes for a real nice listening experience. Nicely done.

The Fall of the Western World
Starts off with a fine Seals and Crofts style pop vibe and continues in a jaunty, engaging manner. Quality song. I this this version is rock solid. I know you will probably keep popping back and thinking you have to tinker (don't we all) but this is very, very good, as is. Great alt pop vibe. Fresh and so catchy, as Warren stays. Thanks!

Reminds me..
..a bit of HackneyBloke's stuff. That's a big complement! I really liked that. A very accomplished bit of songwriting.
