Description
A lot can be learned from an autistic child. I take for granted many times what may be important to others. Though things may change that are out of our control, what we do have control over is our outlook.

Not that this song is similar in any way, I was working on a Led Zeppelin song the other day, "Ten Years Gone", and then was distracted.

Lyrics
Recess

Early I awake, the sounds of thunder obscures my day
I wish the clouds away, I long for the sun to stay

Found it obscene, to ruin those plans that I had dreamed
I want it my way, I cannot grasp, the moments change...

Distracted through the day I feel my play will slip away
The walls keep closing in, I wish to flee and be set free

Counting down the time, disappointment all around
The rain is coming down, I sense the water still soaking ground

I had it in my head, though reality is there instead
I'm feeling so subdued, I got to check my anger to...

Distracted through the day I feel my play will slip away
The walls keep closing in, I wish to flee and be set free

Early I awake, the sounds of thunder obscures my day
I wish the clouds away, I long for the sun to stay

Found it obscene, to ruin those plans that I had dreamed
I want it my way, I cannot grasp, the moments change....

Rain keeps falling down, Rain keeps falling down

The rain is coming down, I sense the water still soaking ground

Rain keeps falling down, Rain keeps falling down

I had it in my head, though reality is there instead

Rain keeps falling down, Rain keeps falling down

The day will take it's toll, a spin that I can control...

Sweetness!
Indeed the production here is spot on.
The conception is broad and effective! Wow, there is a characterization going on!
The little skinny guitars work.
Can I nit one? Buss yer vocal and use eq to get more highs on yer lead. The backing vocals are tops. Great bass playing as well!

Pleasurable Listen
I've much enjoyed this "distraction"you presented. Lots of guitar nuances raining down, which ignite many musical pleasure pathways.

A Strong Musical Surge
This song jumps right out and grabs you from the opening. Excellent performance and mix, John.

Given the description, I found myself expecting an introspective, perhaps disconnected break somewhere in the middle of the song, but that was just MY perception. The song continues at a strong, steady pace from start to finish... and that's just fine.

Nicely done. ;)

Nice upbeat energy to this which to me contrasts with the message of the lyrics and gives them more power. Great singing and production too John. You should allow for distractions while working in future on Zeppelin tunes too!

Sweet away
Yes, this sounds like the kind of song you would write on a rainy day : )

Love those big, clean, articulate guitars .. right from the get go. They swoop you up and carry you away.

Also love those internal rhyming patterns that help sweep you along lyrically.

Nice rock riffage to kick things off. Like where the vocal sits and how the drums drive things along. Nice flow to the lyrics and you sing them well. Guitars so solid, as always. Catchy as all get out. Nice one. Thanks.

I'm a self taught guitar player who started playing at the age of 13. I mix my guitar progressions together, add lyrics and from that point I'll search for vocal melodies. The music I write is about life experiences and some about random subject mat... [see more]
