Description
After a long lack of inspiration to record anything I’ve been working on this number for the last few weeks.
It’s good to be writing and recording again and I hope my inspiration continues after another long absence from MJ.

Lyrics
Kings are in the castle
Servants at their feet
Counting all their riches
Thinking life is sweet
Distant bell is ringing
It’s ringing out
To give me warning
Well that’s no doubt

All I know
We have to go
I was here before
I was here before

Demons in the tower
Seen them once before
Beggars in the dungeons
Banging on the door
Never was a poor man
Taken for a thief
Only trying to master
All the pain and grief

All I know
We have to go
I was here before
I was here before
I was here before
I was here before

Looking for a hero
What he has to say
Listen to his wisdom
That’s the only way
Only have to stand up
Make it on my own
Take away the freedom
Power of the throne

All I know
We have to go
I was here before
I was here before
I was here before
I was here before

So glad you were inspired again
I don't listen to much rock these days but I had to come and listen to this. I'm happy I did. Can't articulate why but I enjoyed the listen.

Keep it up bro: we've all been there. Cheers.

I've
been playing guitar and keys quite regular but I've not been inspired enough to write anything until now.
I'm no rock singer but I'll have a go, I'll have to calm it down for the next one :-)
Thanks for the listen and support Richard.

Bump and Grind
Made for a specific reason no doubt. Enjoyed the feel on this outing. Has a certain heavier lighter than air quality familiar to those of us from the 70s...
Looking forward to the follow up!

I'm
definitely from that 70s era Daug so I can relate to the music that was being produced at that time.
Thanks for the listen and taking the time to comment, appreciated.

Deja vu all over again....
Straight ahead, right on target kind of rock. No messing about, this is confident and played well. Like the breaks and soloing, but the whole thing hangs together beautifully. Take no prisoners!

Downloaded with thanks!

Great to hear some new music from you, Bob. Nice rocker. I like the imagery of the lyrics and the old style rock vibe riffage. Drums work in well with the guitars. Tight. Thanks.

I
had to blow the dust and cobwebs off my recording gear after so long Dick :-)
I'm enjoying writing and recording again. I hope to hear some new music from you soon, I'll look forward to that.
I'll also need to catch up with the songs I've missed.

Nice!
Reminds me much stylistically, musically, vocally and lyrically of one of my favorite bands, Blue Oyster Cult.

Tasty guitar solo, not overdone and never-ending. Really dig the organs throughout.

I really dug this one, Bob!

I might suggest...
Some backing vocals on the chorus.

Nice mix ... love the heavy drums and thick guitar tone. Really like this Bob .... a bit Zeppelin like at around 1:25 and the ending ... love the stops ... Rockin' track Bob! Makes me want to jam with you. it's great to see you back!

Bob!
solid rocking without a net. i understand about taking time off. you sure came back with something to prove. there is a strong jimmy page influence on the guitars. somewhat like "the firm" period
