Well, I don't hate this one
in fact, it rocks! Your(?) vocal is perfect and the keyboards are fab over a cool bass backer. Who knew? Well done bro.

Don't you just hate haters?

I hate...
(not) to say - this rock jazzy fusion is really a bunch of cool fun listening. Rocking good tune that is gonna be hard to hate for even a hater. "You can do it." Got that right

This
is a great track, the bass line is doing a wonderful thing as is all the other instrumentation.
Vocals fit perfectly on top, I enjoyed this very much Daug.

Never too late!!
Almost verging on polyrhythmic, this is great. Apart from the important message, the funk/blues/rock mix makes for an interesting vehicle for your theme. Very listenable - holds my attention. Fine licks all through this too Daug. A nice addition to iTunes! Cheers.

Polyrhythmism, Polytonality and Warp!
Of course it is... you feel it? There is a tension between the bubble in the organ part and the bass line which resolves during what amounts to a much repeated chorus. Adventure enough right there but there is much more... check out the drum fills! Enough to spin yer head? More?
The piano teeters between times in a couple of places, 'cos I put the warp on, naw, my time was just lousy! Lol. Nice of you to comment on that so generously, I appreciate the big ears.
The thing has brief polytonal sections. Check out the scale figure of minor and major thirds against the bass line after the "stop" devise. Each time the device is used there is a unique bass figure beneath the alt harmony, what bizarre harmony. Just the thing for this piece. :)
Thanks for coming by and commenting. If you don't stop in, I rarely get a chance to talk about the cool stuff.

Ha! Got it.
Thanks for your description. There's a lot more organization to your 'chaotic' texture than I first realized. Probably why this works so well and is not just random backing filler over the bass. On a second listen I'm hearing your major/minor alternation, warped (rubato??? :) ) piano, and bass figures and the rest more as intentional writing to colour the piece. Cool stuff Daug.

How You Gonna Hate It Now?
A lot to like here. Cool rhythm, stylish playing with a few wild bits (from the piano especially), impressive arrangement and mix. It all rolls along well.

Hate it now?
Like Doug was saying? You must have read his comment. Lol. Notice how the chorus brings all the time issues back under control, funky 4/4, while asking, "How you gonna hate it now?".
Just like those recent events...
Thanks for coming by Phil. I appreciate yer support on these things. More coming soon.

Hello Peter
Thanks for commenting. Full disclosure?
Been making public service announcements (PSAs) here in MJ town since The Clique tried to run me off in '09. Prior to that I was just hanging around town watching mentally ill people exercising demons.
They haven't slowed down the hate one bit. I still love 'um...
Thanks for commenting. Appreciate yer support.

Hate to say it, but...
the various voices don't seem to be listening to each other. The message is comfortable, but the left channel and the right channel are doing their own thing and it leaves me a bit queasy. Just like the news does.

Rolling right along...
There's so much to listen to here: polyrhythms, cool ideas springing up everywhere in the orchestration, and I love the piano riffs, of course. I don't, frankly, "get" the title and repeated lyric. To me, the piece stands strongly just as an instrumental. I certainly don't have to rise above anything to really like this energetic, clever, well-produced track. Nice one in so many delightful ways.

Ah, Mr. Paul f. Page
My friend please consider H3nry's remark here. He completely nailed the entire concept in his brief riff. Actually mind blowing, his comment captures today's hateful tone perfectly, just brilliant! Ya need to "get" this Sir.
I have a suggestion. Invest some time on Google video, query "liberal meltdown." Watch an hour or so. Ask yourself what national socialism has become since the 1930s. What is "The BIG lie," Sir? Hate is just an emotion? Why do people hate?
Then, the question at hand. Why, when reality becomes smooth and pleasant, as in the comparatively mild, yet Stoner streetwise, chorus of this tune, would your old friend Daug ask, "How you gonna hate it now?"
