Henry Spragens just did a take on this little invention for organ that I wrote about a week ago. We thought a few of you might be interested in hearing/comparing the two. Henry's arrangement and mix can be found here: http://www.macjams.com/song/82875

If you are curious, the organ score can be found here:

So nice to hear an unusual and very satisfying realization of my initial ideas.

Some obvious baroque influences, and a nice calm serenity about it.

Always nice to hear an organ piece. I love the timbre of the lower register notes. Playful and stately at the same time. Thanks, Paul.

My son has just wandered in and said, 'What are you listening to? It sounds very baroque.' And so it does. Delightful ditty, very elegant.

Lovely piece and lovely flute registers you played it on.

When you say "invention" one of course thinks of Bach, and this is somewhat un-Bach with that rhythmic pulse in one voice. It's almost more like an aria, with the melody and bassline and someone forgot to realize the figured bass. But it sounds fine the way it is. Just a lighter texture than I'm used to from you.

A neat reflective touch...
...and subtlety that I don't always associate with organs...

I could imagine Captain Nemo playing this deep underwater when he needed to reconnect with his humanity...
