Smooth and Upbeat.
The single word that comes most strongly to mind listening to this is lively, perhaps reflecting its inspiration. It's also silky smooth and the guitar playing is a large part of the reason why it has that quality. You have a subtle touch on that guitar! Sorry for your loss, this is a lovely tribute.

very evocative of good times
I don't doubt he would picked this one up and run with it (and then brought it back):)

Run with it...
He did like to run and bring things back. Not so good at then letting go of them, though...

Really
good to hear this very well played jazz guitar piece. Some lovely touches on the guitar.
Very much enjoyed.

Run, Barney, Run
Playful and smooth at the same time. Lovely touch. Barney certainly had his own unique personality and was one of a kind. This piece speaks of the joy and pleasure that he gave you and Gaby. Nice one. Talk soon.

Yes, he had character alright! I actually did the tune a little while ago, but I think it fits Barney pretty well.

Barney
probably enjoyed his 14 1/2 years with you judging by this beautiful tribute you offer. Dogs, more than other pets I think, become such important members of our family that their passing leaves us quite devastated. Thanks for this Philip. Enjoy doggy heaven Barney.

Good old Barney only came to us when he was 8 years old, but he was a great dog. Glad you liked the tune, Richard!

Gosh
There's some terrific guitar music up here at the mo. This is certainly one of them. A lovely tribute to your friend. Always sad to lose a friend.

A Good Farewell
Really liked the very interesting background guitar and bass and the lead blended perfectly with them. A nice breezy, light hearted riff that I hope offset some of the sorrow. Life can be a hard row sometime and music is a way to lift it up.

Barney
Always so sad to loose and animal friend that has been part of the family for so long.
I love the positive feeling in this song, a fine tribute.
Best wishes to you for 2017

How I identify with this
Having lost our flat coat in February this year I remember how I felt then and still feel now.

A lovely piece Phillip. Beautifully played and produced. A fitting tribute.

Cheers

Lively and smooth
Very unexpected to hear the drum choice Philip, but it does reflect doggie enthusiasm, that's for sure. I'm not a big dog fan, but we do have George the border collie as our Shed mascot, and it would be sad to lose him, as it was to lose his predecessor. I remember the sadness when we lost dogs when I was younger, but it was always counteracted by the memories of the fun times. Lovely guitar/s.
Cheers,
Neil

I appreciate comments, Neil - thanks for stopping by. I chose a train drum as the nearest I could get to the thumping run Barney could get going when he was in his prime.

Dogtastic
Really enjoyable listen to some very smooth playing. I get the business and enthusiasm of the dog in his prime. Excellent. cheers Mark

Run run
That's pretty uptempo compared to your usual output.

Speaking of usual: this is the second track by you I've just heard, and the bass guitar is practically unfindable. Cut those guitar frequencies! Even cut some bass frequencies. Unless you simply don't like bass.

THanks
Thanks for listening, Vic, and for the comments - I'll play around with the bass again to see if I can get it to be clearer in the mix!
