Description
This piece, composed in September of 2014, was almost the last music I made. Anne was starting to lose her energy and joy, and I was there with her. After she passed in August 2015 I spent a lot of time re-learning necessary life skills I had neglected while she was alive (banking, taxes, stocking the pantry, etc, etc). Finally, in July of 2016, I was comfortable enough with my situation that my music-making muse tapped me on the shoulder one day and said, "Well…?" As a result, I have made more than a dozen tunes since and am excited to start posting them. As soon as we listen to this last of the "old stuff".

It consists of three tracks: an Alchemy rhythm preset called Golden Oak, a Boldt Ensoniq Glockenspiel, and a Boldt BH Cello.

THat
put me in "deep though" mode. Something to soothe the mind into creative inspiration.

Thank you Sam
for checking this out. It is a little different, maybe even weird, esp if you haven't read the backstory. I can't imagine too many downloads for this one (though it looks like my Scandi friend Henke got one ;-)

Backstory
There's a restrained anxiety in this music .. and an awareness of something unsettling that lies ahead. Or am I just reading into it from the backstory? I can't tell for sure .. but that's how I am hearing it.

Well, Warren
as I said to Sam, the music is maybe a little weird w/o the story. With it, you recognized anxiety (however restrained) which I obviously was feeling but certainly wasn't consciously attempting. The rest may just be the backstory.

Love, Maybe
I this a bit unsettling - a bit ominous. Beautifully done, with smooth sounds, but there's that hint of darkness. Powerful, for all its gentleness. Good to hear that you're finding a way through what must have been the most terrible of times.

Hi Philip
Yeah, I know. But thanks for hearing the smooth and gentle through the dark.

Yes, it was terrible and, while I still miss her deeply, I am extremely thankful not only for our long life together but also for my ability to come out of the experience as well as I have. It must be the music.

Damn!
The story behind this brought tears to my eyes...

Anyway, this is a really moody piece. Full of sadness, depth, and---I think---a certain resolve.

Thanks for posting.

Be well friend!

the story is really felt in the music
A spirit of sadness and despair comes through on this. Very well composed. It would really do well as background music in a film of such. It's good that you are back into music to help you work through your grief.
