Jazz is the only style I've had lessons in (a long time ago) - all the rest of the stuff is self-taught. Glad you liked this one - thanks for stopping by!

Toe Tapper
It seems all my toes were tapping. Well my right foot anyway. Marvellous playing. It rolls along with a sweet tone and your band members are playing a solid rhythm:)

Hi Philip - well it got my toes moving! Actually it was more like bouncing on my heels, but who cares about technicalities. Cool little tune, with some nice soloing with flair - an enjoyable listen - thanks, my friend!

The guitar is a Gibson Howard Roberts (the one used in my avatar, although it's actually a deeper red than in that picture) and I do love it! Thanks for the comments - much appreciated!

Well played Philip. Well crafted and executed. I don't know how you kept that drummer under control.

Keeping the drummer under control? I use logic with him and that seems to work! Thanks for listening - much appreciated!

I guess your days of dancing in the kitchen with Grandma are over, so a wooden chair has to do. Glad I could provide the soundtrack!
bud said 103 days ago (February 10th, 2017)
That sure was fun
had me tapping - toes and fingers. Your playing is really fleet, fluid and inventive. Question - did you build the backing track - or did you find a good swing 'minus one' track to work with?

Check out my latest song called Polara
Philip18 said 101 days ago (February 11th, 2017)
Thanks
Glad you liked the tune! Re the backing, I started with a "brush train "drum loop from Logic, then added two rhythm tracks (guitar),a bass line, then the lead. So part from the drum, all me. Thanks for listening - much appreciated!

Back from fishing. Interesting trip. Got blown off the water a couple of times. Sounds like you are having some fun letting your fingers trip the light fantastic with the Howard Roberts here. Some nice chord comping, as well. Feel good music. Thanks. Talk soon.

The wether has been all over the place - as I guess your boat has been? Yes, a bit of fun where I got to use the chord run down from F7 to C7 that I picked up from the Guitar Retreat - it finishes things off nicely, I think! See you soon.

Tapping
Very cool track. It could be something by Chet Atkins. Or maybe they would have danced the Charleston to it, back in the 1920s.

That was the plan, Vic - I'm pleased that's the way it came out!

Yes it is!
Catchy right from the get-go, you have my toes in motion for sure. Who could sit stock still to this one? It has a kind of happy Les Paul feel to it. I like the variety of guitars you use backing up the lead.

What's next - a Django Reinhardt?

Thanks for the download Phillip!
