Lyrics

He had a peace sign tatooed across his face
He asked me if I cared about the human race
He said I'd be bound for Karmic perdition
If I didn't sign his petition
And the future of humanity lies in outer space.

So Kumbaya lord and give peace a chance.
Roll a joint, take off your clothes and dance.
We're gonna right the worlds wrongs
With a head full of protest songs.
And the loopdee-loop-doodoo of a psychedelic trance.

But Jesus , Buddha, Gandhi and Martin Luther King
Couldn't get us to stop killing each other
So bartender pour me another
And I'll go shopping for a back porch swing.

'Cause Jesus , Buddha, Gandhi and Martin Luther King
Couldn't get us to stop killing each other
So bartender pour me another
And I'll go shopping for a back porch swing.

Thanks
I thought about doing just acoustic and vocals but decided to go more psychedelic for some reason.
Been listening to Jessie Mae Hemphill on a regular basis so that influenced it as well.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks Vic
I always find genres tricky. I may record and acoustic version just to see how it works out.

Cool concept
Cool concept. Great lyrics. Good storytelling.

Musically, I think the psychedelic elements could be pushed a lot further out into the ozone : )

But there's probably a lot of different ways a song this good could be done.

Thanks for the feedback.
Musically, I was actually thinking of doing just an acoustic and vocal of it. More bluesy and world weary.

It would be interesting to hear how others would approach it. One of the things I like to do his pick and old standard like St. Louis Blues or Spoonful and search youtube for different artists interpretations of it.
