Lyrics
Cradle

Care for your sister and care for your brother
Care for your father and care for your mother
Care for a friend or a neighbour or other
Or the cradle will fall

When will the cradle fall?

Baby - safe in your bed late at night

Baby - even a night such as this

baby - me and your ma are right here

Baby - now go to sleep with a ...

Baby - beware of the bumps in the night

Baby - watch for the things that can bite

Baby - beware of the things that can bite

Baby - watch for the spooks and the creeps

Baby - they'll come around while you sleep

Baby - but not while your parents are here

(You'll see them crawling but things aren't the way they appear.)

When will the cradle fall?

Don't feel alone - nobody should have to suffer alone, in their own home
Falling, calling, mission incomplete, the first matter is that you care
There's nothing that's too hard to do - there's nothing to be misconstrued
Help for you, care for me, care for you, not discrete

Or the cradle will fall

Wow! You three are certainly rocking a cradle of prog creativity here (with a touch of Fab Four seasoning - of course). Wonderful song. Top notch vocal work and harmonies. Plenty of light and shade. Familiar but new at the same time. Impressive work all round. Sounds great, too. Thanks, all. Take a bow.

Thanks, Peter
I've been remixing and mastering a lot of tunes with Tom Hellsten of late. This one involved some rearranging, with excellent results.

I'm
impressed with the new arrangement/mix. The ending threw me off completely the first time I heard it. I actually thought the song was over, then got the 'surprise'. I also like how well our voices worked together. Kudos to you and Tom for the new mix. I love it.

I asked Tom to incorporate the intro, which he did. Then I sent my arrangement of your last set of vocals, and that got used instead of the previous version. It seems logical now and works very well, I think.

Yeow...
The Beatles meets Robert Fripp? Amazing stuff here!

Don't remember the original. No matter. I won't forget this one. A real gem!

Be well friends!

Cheers.
I'm happy you enjoyed it. It took quite a while to reach this stage, but it was worth the effort.

I was sucked in pretty quickly. Cool tune. The ending is a really nice change. Works really well with the style and theme of the song.

I definitely hear a few influences in there, but might there be just a touch of XTC as well?

Very cool job guys. Enjoyed it very much.

Definitely.
You can add Gentle Giant to the list. Sam and I are both fans. The song became a bonkers lullaby after David insisted the squeaky toy stay in. I was then stuck with the problem of making a dark and stormy night into something involving babies. Thanks for the kind remarks, Joseph.

Man, when those guitars kick in....
really cool piece
love the recording and mixing of the vocals.
And Tommy surely can mix, I heard a lot of his mixes..
slight psychedelic touches give it a great oldschool vibe. A British sound :-)
Gonna grab me a copy
hats off, guys!

Thanks, KC
Still British, though the singer is American, the drummer is American and the mixmaster is a Swede living in Thailand. Oh, and I'm a Bahamian! But I know what you mean. All the influences cited here are right on. Thanks for listening.

Many thanks
I was thinking 10CC "Mandy" when I was concocting this. The current arrangement is made with the help of two extra bits that the original song inspired. I love stuff with SFX in, particularly weather. (And the effects here are all genuine Bahamian weather noises.)
