Description
I met Peter Thorneycroft when we started Primary School together! In more recent years, he has played harmonica and accordion on several of the tracks I've put on MacJams. He recently sent me this version of a Tony Joe White tune. He's recorded it at a friend's place using a Rode NT 1000 microphone. Beautiful tune and a great performance of it. I couldn't resist putting it on my page - it seemed quicker than Peter joining MacJams...

Peter plays all instrument - the harp and the three guitar parts.

I hope you enjoy listening as much as I did!

Thanks
Philip

Emotional
right from the start. Like putting on your most comfortable clothes and kicking back on a day off. Don't even know how this slipped passed me.

Pass the red ...............
This is a real campfire song - very nice indeed. Some delicious playing, all perfectly paced and played.
Do we need a harp player for the GSB? I think perhaps we do ;)
Cheers from up the coast.

Pass the red
Good idea! In fact I'm just about to open a red right now!

When the harp player is as good as Peter, it's always a good idea to add it to the mix! Thanks for the comment, Neil - much appreciated!

No mistaking the vibe
JJ Cale out take? That is a good thing. The playing is crisp and well recorded... sounds like a great guy to jam with from here...

What a nice gesture...
promoting your friend like this. Anyway, this is some fine mouth harping. Very easy/natural feel. Guitar work is good too...Enjoyed this very much Philip!

Be well friend!

Glad you enjoyed it, Michael. I might have tried to get Peter to join MacJams, but last time I encouraged someone to do that (admittedly a fair while ago) it took months before anything happened so I'm wary of doing that...

Thanks for stopping by - much appreciated!

New is good
The song comfortably inhabits the slowly-paced space.

New members are hard to find around here, so it's always nice to hear somebody new.

I don't have any friends that date back to Primary (or as we say in the United States, Elementary) School because of a relocation when I was entering junior high and I lost touch with all of those early school days chums .. so I look on this with a touch of envy that you have a musical connection that goes back that far.

Never understood why they call it a harp....

But your friend plays it very well. I love those bluesy bends.
