Description
When my Mac crashed and burned some six years ago, and I knew it would be a long time before I would be able to post music again, I decided to pull down all my music. In retrospect, this might have been a tad foolish. On the other hand, it does give me the opportunity to re-post some of the better tunes in remixed and/or remastered versions.

Here is a corrected, remixed and remastered version of an oldie but goodie!

Classic
Love that little three, or is it four, note run in the vocal. The San Francisco style psychedelic guitar is some of my roots also and I appreciate that sound. In general the spacy, echoey sound works just right for me.

Sir Tom!
You get the firsties award!

Yes indeed, we have a few of the same musical roots. I was initially neck deep in the West Coast Sound back in the day. Then I stumbled onto Jethro Tull, Mountain, and related bands, and the rest is history.

But that old WCS still tugs at me from time to time. Glad you enjoyed it!

Expressive vocal and engaging lyrics. I like the pretty guitar that gets it going. The spacey lead brings a new mood. Good one, Michael!

Hey Phil!
Back in the day when this was first released it was my most successful tune. Over 60 faves and eventually some 200 plus downloads. MJ ain't what it used to be... But I still love it!

Nice to get this one out again. Glad you like it.

Gonna be re-releasing a number of spit-shined oldies in between the newbies.

Logic Pro X cleans things up nicely!

So nice to hear
you, once again. Very passionate and emotional. Interesting effect ..of a tunnel..? Enjoyed it. Thank you.

Char!
Thanks for the compliment! Yes... the effect in "sometimes I see clearly...;etc" is intended to approximate being in a tunnel. Good call!

Thanks for listening!

Love
the starkness of the production. It captures the full mood and feel of the song and lyrics. This is great!

Definitely a goodie!
The stripped back sound is very effective.

Somewhat bleak but still enjoyable.

Hello Dick!
"Bleak"... Ha ha... grovelling usually is rather "bleak." The song is my apology to anyone and everyone who has ever had the misfortune to argue with me!

There's a great song
..... trying to get out.

There's great stuff here. Vocals, acoustic guitar sound. But before the 2 minute mark the guitar and vocals just don't fit together for me. And the electric guitar solo entirely does not fit the acoustic guitar. Maybe it's the fact that they both have their own interpretation of the beat. A drum would hold it together, I'd think.

Now, that verse that starts 2:25, that's completely perfect. Sound and performance are perfectly matched.

Thank you
for the honest critique. Definitely stuff to consider, whether applied to this particular piece or not. Personally, I'm happy with the guitar vocal match throughout; but I've always been a little troubled by the electric soloing!

Lovely song
The acoustic parts, vocal accompaniment and how it progresses during changes through out.

Tracks like this are what I -live- -for- ...
Maybe I’m just doing something wrong nowadays,” but I remember when macjams.com opened with a “random music selector,” and this took me to amazing tracks like this one ... the likes of which I could not hear anywhere else.

Thank you Mike! (You cool cat you...)
Yeah, I remember that feature of MJ. Wish it could be brought back as part of the (slow) ongoing "upgrades."

So glad you enjoyed the tune!
