Beach Bossa

Description
I was playing around with the Yacht Rock guitar tone in Logic Pro. I changed the amp setting to Silver Dollar because I thought the one they have in the setting is a bit too fuzzy. The lead is played fingerstyle on my Gibson Howard Roberts. The left channel is the maton FG 100 steel string; on the right is the Gibson nylon. The drums start with a Brazilian Bossa Logic loop, then Logic drummer Levi uses his Trade Winds style. Add a springy bass and a touch of 12 string and there you have it.

I hope you enjoy listening!

Thanks
It took some culling to get back to this - two other guitar tracks eliminated. I'm trying not to overdo it...

Smooth
Good morning tune. I am sitting here with my coffee grooving on this. What stands out is the tone which is oh so mellow and of course the way you manipulate those strings into taking us on a ride.

A nice vibe...
...with a collection of nicely blended guitar tones... I'll want to hear this on headphones when I get home...The effect is of one ultra-wide, multi tonally interesting guitar...

Texturing
Cool mix of sympathetic-sounding guitars. I've been doing the same thing - hunting for the right guitar tone that fits the melody and tempo .. and then experimenting with slightly different effects to add subtle (and not so subtle) variations to the soundtrack. Of course, you are taking it a step further by adding the textures of different guitars. The beauty is it becomes both simple and complex at the same time. Nicely done!

hunting for the right guitar tone
It's a never ending search, Warren - although I often find myself coming back to something pretty simple. Thanks for listening and for the comment - much appreciated!

Beach Bossa
Nice breezy beach music to come back to Philip. even though the temperature in Melbourne is just a touch cooler that Rome! I need to get back into MJ now that I am home. This is just the ticket to ease me back in. Talk soon, my friend.

Welcome back!
This was a bit of an experiment, albeit within a safe formula of a bossa. I'm still playing around with this tune, trying it with just a plain acoustic as the lead. I sometimes like the sound of difference (the Yacht Rock setting) then go off it. Anyway, all good fun! See you tomorrow.

You make it sound...
...so simple — both the description and the performance. Such a broad-spectrum sound that is just a treat to the ears. "Springy bass", indeed. So perfectly placed, played, and mixed into the whole. What a lovely composition and simply superb performance.

Toe tapping delight!
Love the phase on that guitar! Beautifully recorded too! Sounds a little like a fast James Taylor piece sans vocal. Really like this!

Beach
This has a wonderful summery mood.

The lead guitar starts out with a catch hook, but then it quickly becomes a backing guitar and I'm starting to miss a melody. For instance 0:22 has nothing melody like. On the other hand at 0:29 you have another great lick.

Very nice.
Sounds like summer, Philip. Cool and breezy. (Even though summer here is breezy and sweaty!) I love bossa. Have you heard Todd's Boss album, "With a Twist"? It rules.
