Lyrics

C C/B C/A C/G F G C
Every word you told me was just another lie, now I’ve come to say goodbye
F G C Am F G C
Because everything is temporary, especially when you’re gone and now I’ve come to say goodbye

We had our moments, fancy and footloose, but someone had to lose and it was me
Because everything is temporary, especially when you’re gone and now I’ve come to say goodbye

The saddest thing of all is when I shed my tears, I didn’t know if they were for you or for me
I thought you were the broken one but I wasn’t far behind and now I’ve come to say goodbye

Blame there was a plenty to pass around, a three ring circus without a clown
The wheels went off the car and the boat went aground and no one could save you or me

This is the Bronco I remember
I am Listening to this on the balcony on a relatively warm summer evening here in Oslo. You have produced this song very well, both the guitars an the vocals shine. I feel that your singing is particularly good on this. It's really nice to sit here and listen to it, thinking back on the good old days here on MacJams. The mix works extremely well!

Memories
It is hard to believe that it is now 12 years since I posted my first song. It was so exciting when the internet was new and the possibillities seemed endless. This song is the result of my finally finding some words that seemed to fit with a chord progression in the key of C that I had been playing with for many years. And yet another mic and new clamp on desk mic extension holder. I couldn't get the mic (which was cheap) to be useable but naturally my son came over last night and had it working in a matter of minutes. He just has an instinct for that type of thing. So while the iron was hot I fired everything up this morning and the picking vocal is a first take and the lead is a third take which I still wasn't satisfied with. I should do more recording now because with this clamp on swivel mic holder It is super easy to just swing it around and go.

My singing comes and goes these days but the lower, slower ones are better, so maybe more songs in C? Hope you are well Magnus and still playing yourself.

Now I've Come To Say Goodbye
Languid, melancholy song, Tom. Back porch feel but the production is better. Thanks.

now I've come
Thanks Peter. I had been using one of those big, round Snowball USB mics and for some reason can never get a good sound out of it. Now I got another USB mic that is cheaper$37 CADU37 and it likes me. At least after my son got all the variables set for me.

I also got a desk clamp on adjustable mic stand that let's me bring the mic to exactly where I want it. The only bad thing is that when I went to overdub the lead, there was a latency that confused me. I heard the guitar sound through the headphones after I had played the note which made getting in sync pretty much impossible.

Tom Bronco...

Bro... this melancholy piece...so emotionally evocative and true-to-life... is---IMHO---among your very best. Vocal is crystal clear (as it needs to be). Guitars are crisp and nicely mixed.

Be well friend!

Thanks Michael. One of my more honest songs but I'm not sure about best. Maybe this one is too close for me to enjoy. See comments to Peter as far as better vocal quality.

Good comment Char. I sometimes think that a song I have written is too persoanl and no one else will relate to it but then I listen again and realize I am not so special and most people have emotional relationships that don't turn out well.

I hit the jackpot in
Hell, son. e let it kill us or we become empowered. I started listening here on MacJams and I was inspired top write my musings down. The rest is history. I have a fuller life without the creep. And, finally, I get some appreciation. Hang in. It is all for some mysterious reason. Love, Char

therapy
I guess people write songs for all types of reasons. Money, fame, infamy, bored, driven etc. Most of mine or written as a type of therapy, only I don't have to pay a therapist. If it wasn't for six strings and a nice pice of wood, I would be even crazier.

Getting better
The older you get, the more temporary everything seems to be.

That new mic suits your voice. That it was inexpensive was a bonus. Sometimes things do work out for the better : )

Well maybe
Remember the Beatle tune that Paul wrote where, "it's getting better all the time" and then the world weary Lennon comes in and says, "it can't get no worse". That war between the optomist and the pessimist been going on a long time. You know, the Democrat takes a glass of water and says it is half full and the Republican says it is half empty and the Libertarian says, "WHO DRANK MY DAMN WATER".

A Real Song
This has a great vibe and you sustained it through the whole thing (not easy to do). A fine live feel, world-weary lyric and deadpan, honest delivery. Excellent performance. Walk tall.
