Lyrics
angel/of the smallest sound
white noise/ you're all around
the sweetest voice i ever heard
never said a word...
to make it better,
you rub your wings together...
angel/of the smallest sigh
fragile as a dragonfly...
the one adored in floor and spring;
in shutter, shade and hinge
-in the flutter of pages/of wings
-of worn-out things...
angel/of the smallest noise
angel/of the unheard voice
in you, comfort i have found
even in the smallest sound...

What a great song about noise. The beauty of small
sounds. That line "One adored in
floor and spring; in shutter, shade and hinge" is one of the
best lyrics I've come across here. And that little pause
between lines on the last verse is great, begging you to
enjoy small silences.
What I was dreading, listening to this delicately
mysteriosu song, was that you'd lose
confidence in how stripped down this song was and bring
in some guitar solo or something, which would spoil the
sense of miniature. I was so relieved you didn't. To be
honest I even found the
additional voice - though beautiful - one element too
much.
But it's beautifully excecuted and one of the most
genuinely original pieces of songwriting I've come across
here.
