So Many Things

(A Song For Sharon)

My wife and I have been married for quite a while, I thought it was about time I play and write something with some real substance.
****

So many things we’ve done together
So many things, too many to count
The things you do simply amaze me
To me your an angel of the highest degree

I see you doing endless laundry, I know not many could keep up witth you
Your thyroids low but you keep care, you look so nice to me

Lead guitar

When I’m feeling low you get me much better
Your a Dr. Phil, you should have a degree
You do so much for me, I can never repay you in how much you mean to me

Lead Guitar

How could anybody compare to your caring.
For little, little ole me
Your the real star in our houshold. Your the tops of my history

This song is homage to you
And all the things you are to me, to me

Dog baths, lake walks, late night talks and missin socks, so many things we’ve shared together

Up till late, first kid on a date, being there when no one cares endless things we've shared together, together

So many things we’ve done together
So many things too many to count
All the things you do, simply amaze me.
To me your an angel of the highest degree, for me

Lead Guitar

When I’m feeling low you get me much better
Your a Dr. Phil, you should have a degree
You do so much for me, I can never repay you that's how much you mean to me

How could anybody compare to your caring.
For little, little ole me
Your the real star in this houshold. Your the tops of my history of my history

Lead Guitar

Song of Sharon
Very heartfelt tribute to a devoted and smart wife and
mother. Can I borrow your song? I have one of those
wives, too. Love the stereo guitars. "Your caring for little,
little ole me" .. love it!

I have not heard a lovelier song in quite a while. You have
two voices, Bill, yours and your guitar's. In this song both
are filled with love. Excellent piece.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Thanks for the thing about the slide.
I learned that when I got older, so I guess you can teach an old dog new
tricks:)

Thanks again

Very touching...
As usual, beautiful playing; and the quirkiness of the lyrics
makes them sound more heartfelt. This sort of song does
what it sets out to do so well - tell your wife how much
you love her - it's kind of beyond criticism.

Call me sentimental....

...but these 'tribute' songs are some of the very best
kind--both to listen to and create.
Honest and heartfelt.

Call me sentimental....
Thanks Mystified for stopping by.
I try to make all my tunes as honest as I can. But some just stand out more I
guess. It's the ones that sometimes don't get as much attention that tun out
to be the most genuine sometimes I guess.

Lovely song...

to your wife. Your simple words are the words of a
husband who, like so many of us, sometimes doesn't
realize just what a wonderful woman he has until he
stops, looks, and ponders it all. Beautiful guitar
playing also that surrounds your lyrics in this song.

What an honest sounding love song. This is the sort of
early Mother's Day gift that really hits the mark. The kind
of personal song it is almost hard to listen to without
feeling intrusive. Thanks for sharing this homespun

what did SHE think?
i can only agree with what everyone else has said so far!
writing a song for someone you know, and know well, in
my opinion, can be a risky thing. risky because it's hard to
avoid being cliche. some parts of the song (lyrically) do
fall into that, but i think it's unavoidable. the thing with
this song is, you are pulling stuff out that only YOU two
know, or can relate to, and that's why it works so well! i
love the lines, "you're the tops of my history," "star in our
household," and esepcially, "your thyroids low..." terrific
stuff!!

but, of course, i'm curious... what did your wife think? i
assume she was very touched, but i also assume it's hard
for the spouse to really absorb the meaning of a song like
this when they know YOU so well, too.

i know for me, i'd get the ol' "that's nice, dear." to which, i
would translate into, "dude... you rock!"

this is just a wonderful, simple, and lovely piece with a ton
of warmth and sincerity that is quite rare to come by these
days. nice job! thank you for sharing this one up! peace!!
