where there are the latest most polished versions of what I post here plus lots of videos.
Let me know what you think.
Since I was a teenager I've been making short films. I always loved making them but there was something very special about taking the footage into a quiet editing room then placing one shot against another. That's when the magic really happened. And most magical of all was when I would bring MUSIC into these films. Instantly I could see what a powerful effect music had. Though I always had an excellent feel using it in my films for many reasons it would be years before I would compose and bring my own music into them. But when I did it was as if a door was flung open and wondrous, eclectic, powerful music stormed in.
I've always loved Classical and Classic film scores and my music reflects that but I have far ranging tastes including Glass, Vangelis, Bach, Gabriel, Jenkins, etc. "Lost Islands on an Imagined Sea" is my first album. I's filled with what I'd call short and hopefully captivating works taking the listener to distant times and lands.
Two wonderful young Ice Dancers dance to Sarah's Song:
Here's a video of :The Fence" Ice Danced to:
This is a short video I've made put to a recent and original composition of mine called DANCE OF THE CLOWNS.
Was Stanley Kubrick influenced by a 50s Walt Disney TV show?
Most of this footage here is from that show and while 2001 fans know that 2001 was in part based on Arthur C. Clarke's short story called THE SENTINEL and the script was co-written by Clarke and Kubrick, there does seem to be a strong connection to this Disney film about an exploratory fight to the moon and something strange that is found on it's dark side.
I've compiled and edited this fascinating footage and put a new music composition of mine on the soundtrack called OUTERWORLDS
While I have mixed feelings about music videos because they so influence much of what your inner eye sees when you hear music, yet still I couldn't resist trying to come up with something that if not a perfect representation of the music at least for me caught it's spirit.
Outerworlds is in 5 parts:
The Base
Lifting Off
The Long Night
Breaking Through
A New Earth
My most recent album is "CHILD OF THE WEST". Check it out at CDBABY.COM http://cdbaby.com/cd/mazarakes3
