getting audio files converted to EXS24 Sample Format
Monday, September 24 2007 @ 02:17 AM CDT
I have a set of audio samples corresponding to various notes (39).
I want it as an instrument in Logic/GB. I believe this is do-able in Logic, but I have LE. Does anyone know of a Mac tool to do this? (Or would someone be willing to do this with software they have?) |

Hi. If they are individual sounds that each keystruck triggers a different sample. And if you haveGB3 or 4. You can use this tutorial to help.T.... http://www.thegaragedoor.com/tutorials/building.html

Thanks for the reply. I tried it, but I was unsuccessful; when dragging the sound to the kbd, it never seemed to recognize it (green '+' didn't appear).
I did find PolyPhontics GB 1.2, which has this ability for $24. |

What version of LE do you have? LE8 has the full EXS24, I believe -- I was looking at it last night, and there was an "edit" button, which exposed editable mappings between the sample files and the midi notes.

And for ten times that money you can get Redmatica Keymap... Seriously I know of no real alternative to the EXS instrument editor that comes with Logic Pro/Studio. Victor. -- My CD. |

Hi David. Maybe try it again,I don't know. I don't use GB so only have things I stumble accross. However there is an option available in a way. The 39 audio files you mention. What are they? Are they single sounds? or are they a series of pitched sounds you want to spread out over the keyboard to say be able to play a chord. If they are single sounds such as a spoken phrase or drum hit. There may be a way to work it. So if you would. Explain a bit more about what it is you actually want to do.Worth a shot perhaps. The soundfont thing sounds cool. I've never used them however so don't know a thing about them. Taylor.....Duh.Also which version of GB and Logic are you using?
