Moog Sub 37 Synth
Tuesday, September 12 2017 @ 02:42 PM CDT

I'm thinking about purchasing one because I want to start adding synth clips to my material and become a better keyboardist.

Does anyone have experience with this instrument?

Do you recommend it?
What are the pros and cons?

I would certainly encourage you to pursue your initial instincts.   :-D   In this amazing world of amazing software synthesis, I still believe that there is something to be said for hardware, and “Moog has never lost its touch, or its focus.”   Over the years I have owned several hardware synthesizers ... including a little Casio unit that one might too-easily dismiss as “only a toy.”   (I bought it for all of $15 at a Goodwill-type store, and I still have it and still use it.)   The challenge of all such units is to truly explore what this piece of hardware can do, in spite of what might today be perceived as “limitations.”

After all – and our spouses must strive to understand – a certain very-definite part of this musical infatuation is ... “cool toys tools!!”   :-D

That's a lot of functionality and signature sound for a reasonable amount of money. The Sub Phatty is awesome. This seems like, awesomer.

It's better to regret something you have done, than something you haven't done.
