He's got to be 75 or something I think. We have a habit of celebrating people after
they are gone, and not while they are living.
JMs more than an influential player, he's a genius, and a virtuoso of unequaled ability.
McLaughlin arguably derived the formulations that created electric jazz fusion, live on stage.
He's Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton's favorite player... he led the most influential touring
band on the planet for 20 years or so... is a co-creator of modern western music and an adept at Indian classical
music. He's also been a visible link between musicians of the west and east.
He still tours and records, he also teaches, his video lessons are not for the casual learner...
