Yet another word that's not in Apple Dictionary.   :-)

But still I would experiment in adding something ... and I daresay it would be interesting to see how little that “something” needs to be ... that is, in fact, consistent from one strip to the next.   (I would even guess that it might be just a little, irrelevant-to-the-tune pulse or click.)   It would be “an alignment signal” that your pattern-hungry brain might even pick up on subliminally – but it would pick up.   It would be interesting to see what effect (if any) such a crazy notion might have on a cross-fade problem.

After all, I seem to recall that there was some ancient-hero who saved his bacon by following a spider’s thread that some god had magically and fortuitously provided.
