A sad day, indeed. What an absolute blessing it was to work with Philip on many of his soulful compositions. Those songs will now hold a whole new meaning to me. Godspeed, Philip.

Very sad and unexpected news, indeed.

My most sincere condolences to his wife, family and friends.

At least we have his music to remember him by...

Philip and I were also FB friends and my mouth dropped when I read his wife's post. Philip was there for just about every single song I posted and I let Mrs. Gardner know how encouraging he was.

He posted a funny message about a grammar mistake on his FB page, and I replied how anal I could be about poor grammar (when not something casual like forums or emails). He laughed at my reply, so at least our last communication (less than two weeks ago) was one with laughter.

Philip's name is all over my favorites page and a number of collaborations. He was always very encouraging to me. He will be missed

He was one of the good guys and a great guitar player/songwriter. Wish I could have known him better.

I only knew him through our interactions and collaborations here at MJ. But that was more than enough to know one could never meet a more humble, gracious and giving soul. My deepest condolences to his friends and family.

He was generous in his comments, and a very fine vocalist (in addition to his musicianship). RIP Phil.
