Wouldn't it be great to have a Menu Bar listing for iMovie Music Videos at MacJams! There are some cool iMovie sites:

http://dotmac.info/ (a great site!)
www.imovie-user.com/

And check out this cool interface:
http://homepage.mac.com/media151/news/iMovieTheater86.html

or this wild movie by Bonka and friends:
http://zed.cbc.ca/go.ZeD?CONTENT_ID=47573&FILTER_KEY=94420&page=content

MacJams could differentiate itself from iMovie sites by streaming strictly Music Video productions that would include stuff created in Flash, Live Motion, PowerPoint, Keynote, QT, iPhotos (slide shows), and even 3D programs like Bryce, Maya, LightWave, ArtMatic, etc...! What do you think?

Oh, hell yes! Well, okay I don't have one yet, but I'm kickin around ideas like mad since I got After Effects (and already had LightWave and PhotoShop). I love surrealism and experimental imagery. Cool! Let's do it (but how about not limiting to iMovie to do final editing-I edit in After Effects believe it or not).

Yeah, I'm definitely in on music videos. I'd buy a camera just for that purpose. Rich internet application.

Although, I imagine there would be some FREAKY posts, and the admins the network transfer + storage requirements would be INSANE! Any ideas around the network $$$ issues inherent in your plan?

In any event.... you find the developers... I'll give you the design!

& I've got the Site to host it at- if MJ doesn't want to do it-
& if someones' willing to program it!!

It's called ShortFilmsOnline.com

Just sitting around waiting for a life to be breathed into it!!

Of course I'm biased to QuickTime format, but it would have to also compete with iFilm and the likes, so windows format downloads would be needed too!

It could be the new iMtv! = Internet Music television! or webmusicvision, or GBLand TV, or Pay-Per view, or Monthly subscriptions Paid, or Pay to Subscribe by Contributing, or......

In General, Music should be "Always Different", Like People.

Quicktime works just fine on Windows at much better quality than the Windows Media format.

Music videos are on the to-do list. However, as with loops, we want to make sure that our system fully supports this separate kind of content, and does not merely try to fit everything into one type of system. If you have suggestions for the new music video system, please let us know!

The easiest way is to make the QT file open in a separate window. Only supply the Music Video Profile information (a still jpg or screen capture uploaded like your song images, artist and song/video description, etc.) and then the link to the offsite video upload. It could be a naked QT file or a cool interface like this:
http://homepage.mac.com/media151/news/iMovieTheater86.html
It would be up to the submitter how to dress up the stream. I know this is less elegant than the onscreen streaming you do with songs, but it seems easier. The idea is to provide the link to the content, be a nexus of artistic musical expression, not necessarily the portal of the actual stream.

Things like whether it is x-rated and other link issues can be handled the same way you handle these issues for songs.

Do it likehttp://dotmac.info/ only make it all about the music to stick with the Macjams concept.
