“Dots,” personally I find it rather refreshing that a Tweet is limited to about 140 characters.   If the President of the United States uses this avenue of immediate and un-editable expression, as he very often does, then it is sure to immediately provoke many dozens of pages of editorials that, I would wager, no one actually reads.   (But the Tweet is instantaneously read, far and wide, and the media has no control over who actually receives it.)

Maybe it’s simply that we are not yet accustomed to a public official who actually makes use of a 21st Century method of connecting directly to the General Public ... and who uses it to express opinions that actually “ring true” that an actual human being is expressing them, instead of a Public Relations Office that is hell-bent on making sure that nothing is actually uttered which might offend someone somewhere.

There is absolutely no doubt that “Washington, DC, Inc.” utterly reviles this man, and is looking for any way that they can find to drum him out of town on a pole – or, in a box.   But maybe, just maybe, this is exactly why a considerable majority of the US States chose him, when they were offered such a choice for the very first time(!) in the nation’s checkered history.

He openly challenges Washington, and he also has a presentation in the world of international relations that is far more direct than the mush-speak that these “diplomatic professionals” are used to.   But, what if the American people actually wanted this to happen?

It is very interesting to watch what the Russians are saying about all of this.

For instance, RT CrossTalk, a very excellent news-commentary program published on-line by the Russian media, recently aired these episodes:

Is RT a foreign agent?
According to the US Department of Justice, RT – this channel – is an agent of a foreign, even hostile, power.   All the while, the DOJ refuses to explain why this is the case or even cite what laws we may have broken.   But something else is in play: critics warn RT is a test case for a wider campaign of media suppression.

Investigating Mueller?
We have grown accustomed to the strange twists and turns of the supposed scandal known as ‘Russiagate,’ as well as the intensely partisan nature of investigations and media coverage. We also know this is all about the very existence of the Trump presidency. But who will investigate the investigators?

Bullhorns: Dossier-Gate?
The so-called Russiagate scandal never seems to end. Now it appears the Democrats colluded with Russia, not Trumpworld. Nonetheless, it is alternative media like RT who are blamed. Are we entering a new age of censorship?

Incidentally, I would recommend CrossTalk as a very fine example of broadcast journalism at its finest.   The program, led by an experienced host who is in fact American, gathers together a round-table of commentators from all around the world – including America – and they engage in a lively, moderated, real-time discussion about the chosen topic.   It is, quite frankly, the kind of journalism that has become very hard to find in our own country.   But it shows what the Internet can do, and it emphasizes the point that all such matters have truly international impact, and that American media companies do not have a monopoly on journalism, or on perspectives that need to be listened-to.

It is also important to remember that Europeans have many centuries’ worth of sometimes extremely-bloody political experience which happened among them on their own continents.   They therefore recognize things which Americans, and particularly American media, might wish to deny.   You will therefore hear viewpoints and observations, thoughtfully but knowingly presented, which “what passes for American media today” simply will not show.   America does have a very strong and aggressive “Propaganda Ministry.”

RT publishes a wide variety of on-line programs. For instance, have you ever seen an American media company publish, or dare to consider publishing, a program with a title like Redacted Tonight ?

With reality now seeming like a Shakespearean comedy, perhaps only comedy can truly bring truth to the people. DC-born comedian Lee Camp and a talented cast do just that with RT America’s first comedy show - Redacted Tonight with Lee Camp. This is not your grandparents’ satire program. Every week Redacted Tonight will provide comedy news with a punch. This weekly satire show tackles all the real news stories the mainstream media failed to mention and provides new angles on the ones they do.
(P.S. It is hardly a “comedy program.”   But was it not always true that “the Court Jester” was the trusted advisor to the King, because he alone was truly free to speak?)

If you peruse their List of Shows, you will in fact find yourself spending considerable time there – apparently to the consternation of the US State Department.   But, once again, these are the perspectives and points-of-view that you will not see from American corporate media today ... carefully make of them what you will.

The Internet is international now, and, now, so is journalism.   And, so is suppression ...

RT as a Foreign Agent, Tax Dollars fund Sexual Abuse, & More
The Department of Justice ordered RT to register as a foreign agent, yet refuses to cite what laws were broken.   Furthermore, the government has done nothing to demonstrate how RT journalists are taking orders from the Kremlin or that RT employees have lobbied Congress on behalf of the Russian government, which is required by law.   This move is clearly political since ACTUAL foreign lobbyists like the Podesta Group and AIPAC were not threatened with arrests and a test case for a wider campaign of media suppression.   The fact is the political establishment is scared to death that more and more of us are abandoning its corporate media, and doesn't want us hearing outside perspectives.
(The host points out that he is an American, broadcasting from America, and that he’s the son of a 20-year career US military veteran, born in Walter A. Reed hospital!)

The Other Side of Korea
Lee Camp speaks to Anya Parampil about the historical context of current U.S. aggression against North Korea, which the military industrial complex and its politicians don’t want you to know.

Truth Behind the Opiod Crisis
Lee Camp opens by breaking down what you don’t know about the opioid crisis ravaging the country.   Naomi Karavani reveals why the US military has been increasingly occupying Africa.   Natalie McGill discovers that drug addiction “treatment” programs include unpaid labor at chicken processing plants.

Economic Hitman Reveals the Truth
Lee Camp speaks to John Perkins, author of ‘Confessions of an Economic Hitman’ and one of his favorite writers about how our so-called humanitarian interventions in the ‘War on Terror’ are a giant facade for protecting corporate interests.   They also discuss how corporate media has become the propaganda arm of the war machine.   Lee then explains how the traits many love to hate about Trump are shared by a majority of people that have ever been in US public office.

I will actually recommend this source of journalism – and others like it – because “the Freedom of the Press” is actually today better-served outside of the USA, than inside.   Of course, as with all media, you must exercise sensible judgment and caution.   But, I find this source to be consistently well-balanced and worth following.

Maybe that’s why Washington, DC has become so afraid of it ...
