Description
I couldnt decide if to put this into Country or Acoustic.
Any way I spent some time in Thailand sailing around these amazing limestone islands that pop up out of the ocean with shear cliffs and untouchable jungle perched on the top. On the mainland progress is changing things fast. Thats what this song is about

Lyrics
I weave my life - through broken waters

The mist and the spray - all but envelopes me

see a glow in the distance and - steer toward it

Only to find - no light for guiding

only a sign – no time for sharing

Just like a line of intense electricity.‘

The arc reaches out - as if to touch me

But rather than - a gentle warning

a recoiling pulse - charges right through me

Can really be - the way to a better

Can you show me - the way to a fairer

Can you give me - the way to a better world?

Is this the light of the seven seas?

A guiding light for the world to see

Is this the light of the seven seas

I push my way - through cold cold water

of swirling tides - and currents that surround me

but sometimes - across occasional flat waters

I can see - huge green-treed mountains

Rising up - like sentinels to the free

I can see it- presiding over me.

Green green mountain - you look so pristine

with towering cliffs - rising up high above the seas

while around you - the world's changes are rapid

May isolation- make you a beacon

Your instigation-make you a haven.

Give me salvation to wash right over me

Is this the light of the seven seas?

A guiding light for the world to see

Is this the light of the seven seas

Like a dream - colours & sounds swirl around me

I try to count them all - so many its hard to believe

So I shut my eyes & think of that green mountain

When I open them - the sky's come clearer
& in my mind -its even better

When I find the love it all so good for me

Is this the light of the seven seas?

A guiding light for the world to see

Good honest music
thanks for sharing your talent.
Some constructive criticism. On my headphones, the vocal
harmony sounded like it could be mixed better. The
accompaniment vocals came through too loudly. Hope
this helps.

Great guitar solo

An interesting song with lots of personal style!

I liked that guitar solo a lot! I think it was rellly great. I also
like the ending where voices kind of turns loose and jam
away!

Am looking forward to hear more from you! I feel like if you
are having lots of musical potential that are just waiting
around the corner to spring forth ...

Great guitar solo
Thanks Cori. Yeah its kinda an unusual song and I think it takes a couple or
three listens because the melody isnt what you expect.
I think I'll have another song to post next weekend.

G'day John,
I like this (and your last post too). You get a great sound
out of the guitar - how are you recording it (ie mics etc)?

Spent some time around Krabi waters myself, and know
what you mean. I wonder whether they've put the road in
behind Rai Lai beach yet? That'll really stuff things up!

One thing I've discovered with vocals is that they always
sound better double tracked. Not only for extra depth,
but it also means you can spread them better in the mix.
My voice isn't anywhere near as strong as yours, so I NEED
to do it - for you it might just be a way of getting a better
balance of voices. Having the main vocal coming from the
left kind of makes it a bit lop-sided or something.

Anyway, great song - looking forward to hearing more.

G'day John,
thanks jiguma
I record the guitar with a studio projects B1 Condenser mic and a direct line off a
Bband pickup (undersaddle & condenser combo). Gives it a nice stereo spread.
Im not a fan of double tracking vocals but I can see where you are coming from.
I should pay more attention to the panning. I think I will try in future try
panning the reverb out to side.

BTW I have just posted another song bt this time in Country bluegrass section. It
should be up soon. I get to play dobro and banjo on that one :)
