Creepy and slow, this is a fairly basic tune with heavy (fake) guitar sounds and a lively bass line. There's a trippy middle part and I've built in a spoken word vocal layer that borrows from a poem I wrote.

Draw your own meanings, but for me this song is about having the courage to face yourself.

I’m nothing like this field
Empty and exposed
Bathed in light with no dark corners
Nothing can hide here
There is no sanctuary
For anything deadly

I wish I were like this field
Empty and exposed
Bathed in light with no dark corners
Where nothing can hide
Where there is no sanctuary
For anything deadly

There is no grief in this field
Nor anything ugly that scars the ground
There are no depths in which to sink
No caves in which to disappear
If creatures came they would be captured
It would be safe and things could grow

There’s a well within this field
And I am like this well
Which gives of itself
Yet also guards its gifts

You can draw a bucket
Or you can let it drop
You can drink
Or you can drown

This well holds more than water
Down in the darkness

This song is hot man! I love the dreary, 'dark-alley' feel to
it. Very sweet tune. The guitar is also impressive.

The first thing that hit me...
...is the bass line. It is a very cool, very busy, very driving
bassline. It really helps build the mood for the, as does
the (fake) guitar, which I think works better in this case
than real guitar would. Oveall I really like the mood of this
one, very dark, has a very foreboding sound and feel. The
lyrics are great. For some reason, it makes me think of a
serial killer, that may be just me. I think the vocal effects
are appropriate and I like the fact that you move them in
and out of the mix. A couple of times, they are really
down in the mix and hard to make out, though that may
be done on purpose. My only suggestion is maybe see
what it sounds like to either change up the vocal effects in
a place or two, or maybe double some of the more buried
sections with either uneffected vocals or something with a
different effect. In my head it sounds cool, but in reality,
who knows. :)

This is a really cool tune, Cipher. I'm glad I came across
your stuff. I've been very impressed.

Great bass!
What an evil piece of bass that is - and I mean that in the
nicest possible way! I really like this, it really grunts along
and shows a very obvious mastery of the technology.
what are you using for drums? The spin out in the middle
kind of breaks the spell a little, but then comes back with
the vox and new bass line. There's lots to admire in this
one CIPHER - glad I found it.

I like the concept and the sounds. Very ethereal and haunting. But I
think it gets bogged down a little in the middle with some repetitions.
The vocals are creepy in a good way. Overall, pretty darn good
