Lyrics
"EUTHANIZE"
Stacey K. Black

I am,
(taking you down taking you down with me
taking you down taking you down)

I am,
(taking you down taking you down with me
taking you down taking you down)

I'm getting furious
lying in my own sweat
I'd love to meet Morpheus
haven't even seen him yet

I try to take my own advice
embrace the black sheep
keep counting as I roll the dice
I just want some sleep.

I am,
(taking you down taking you down with me
taking you down taking you down)

I am,
(taking you down taking you down with me
taking you down taking you down)

Can't get you off my mind
you're clinging like a leech
sucking my soul and my spirit dry
my peace is out of reach

I call upon childhood dreams
they turn into nightmares
now that I'm older it seems
I'm going nowhere.

I am taking you down with me
I am taking you down with me.

I am,
(taking you down taking you down with me
taking you down taking you down)

I am,
(taking you down taking you down with me
taking you down taking you down)

Trying to forget you
but there's not enough time left
if sleep would visit me soon
I'd roll out the red carpet

Would I really miss that much
if I gave in to repose
would I fall so out of touch
if I just let my eyes close?

I am taking you down with me
I am taking you down with me.

I am,
(taking you down taking you down with me
taking you down taking you down)

I am,
(taking you down taking you down with me
taking you down taking you down)

I am,
(taking you down taking you down with me
taking you down taking you down
taking you down taking you down
taking you down taking you down)

Really groovy
I dig the rhythm to this song, the guitars really rock and the instrumentation is outstanding. Your vocals are top notch. A refreshing sound on the macjams site. Thanks for sharing.

John

Splendid, Stacey!
Okay, let's get the bad out the way (there's not much of it)…
there's a repetitive standard GB loop/beat on this track that I've
heard a million times before and it sticks out like a sore thumb.
It's one of those standard sounds that everyone must think is a
good idea when they first hear it but because everyone else is
using it, well it just starts to grate. Which is a shame because it
everso slightly takes the edge off what is otherwise a great piece
of songwriting (one of the best I've heard on MJ for a while). That's
the only problem and everything else pretty much makes up for it
– great song, great rhythm, great instrumentation and production,
and your vocals are fantastic. I love the "I'm taking you down" bits.
Really cool to hear this and thanks for posting. Which of your
songs do you recommend I listen to next? :-)
