Down the Road

A song about the stupidity of man in general, me in particular, temptation, death, redemption. Hmm, seems to be biblical in nature.

I was walking down the road when I thought I heard a sound
And it sounded like thunder and desire

Sometimes it seems like I'm going in the wrong direction
And sometimes I don't know what that means

Now patience is not my virtue, there is a dark side of me
But nothing can take the place, of being so healthy and free

The evil that you do it lives after you
And the good often goes in the grave
But the journey down the road doesn't come with a map
And it's easy to take a wrong turn

Open up your eyes, see the beauty all around
Life can be so sacred, a place no religion ever found

philosophical piece. I really like your leads in this. Also your synth string
work is evocative and supportive of the over-all theme. I'd love to hear a
full rock band version of this tune. It is potentially powerful.

Be well!

life, death and faith.

Very Good
The arrangement is interesting, of course it would sound better with a
real string section.
This is philosophically rather dark - and, strangely, one person's evil act
is another person's good act, depending on whose opinion you listen to.

Very Good
Well it was supposed to say good could be substituted for evil not that an act
could be evil or good at the same time. Although I am sure the great
philosophers can come up with examples that come fairly close.

Very Good
And actually upon rereading my own lyrics here, it seems to me now that the
central theme is that there is evil in everyone but that we can transcend that
and live above it. Please understand that when I write these songs, the words
just pop into my head and I write them down. Sometimes it is just as hard for
me to figure out what they mean, if anything, as you guys.

Cool mix

Thanks for dropping by. The top thing in the picture is the outside of a
quartz geode (that's a rock to you and me). Then the other two things are a
geode split open and showing the quartz on the inside. It was selected very
quickly but I guess it is a metaphor for not judging the inside of something
by the outside.

I was trying to come up with something insightful about the lyrics, but,
so far, all I can come up with is that I really like 'em. It's a great song.
Some serious soul searching brought home by the deep, soulful sound
of the vocals.

As with the others, my only complaint is the string accompaniment.
Personnaly, I would either drop it or refine it. I think the song would
sound just as good bare bones, but I can hear a lot of nice dramatic
touches in the accompaniment you have if you decide go work with it
any further.

All in all, it's a great tune with some powerfully deep meaning and
reflection behind it. Nicely done.

stupidity of man?...
mmm....so where does that leave women? more stupid?...just kidding...did you eat a bad apple lately?...I like the guitar playing but am not sure about the orchestral accompaniment in the background...from the lyrics, I am not quite sure exactly what the evil is...in most cases, evil and good are relative terms; one can't exist without the other...to obtain what is good, one must be willing to pay the cost and take the necessary risks...not all temptations are evil...to not to be tempted or moved by anything in life is not human...there's more than one path leading to the same destination...somehow, the path less traveled seems so mysterious and tempting...

stupidity of man?...
I thought it was well known that women are smarter than men? Men are
simple and women are complicated. Men are bad, women are good.Actually
the song was just about me as most of them are. Think I already
philosophized enough! Thanks for listening once again. And yes I agree the
strings are probably a bad experiment. Now if I could just learn to drums and
bass like Mr. K!

stupidity of man?...
haha! are you kidding me?! I think I would be really stupid if I actually believed what you just wrote there about men and women...for some reason, I encountered more women than men who are stupid...for all the men out there: don't be fooled by breasts and vaginas...well, if this song is really about you...then I must say that you are not as stupid as you think and that you are quite complicated...anyway, good luck on sorting the bad apples from the good ones...personally, I prefer oranges

Great Lyrics!
The intro is great! That recognizable Bronco playingstyle! Your voice is as good as always. I like the stringarrangement of this song, but i think it should be a little lower in the mix so it doesnt dominate to much. The lyrics of this are very beautiful and there is something in this line that i can very much relate to "Sometimes it seems like I'm going in the wrong direction
And sometimes I don't know what that means". That is clever writing. The rest of the lyrics are also great. Definately a download and a fave!

Elegant and moody
I really enjoyed this...all the classic Bronco ingredients are there. Really
nice lead guitar, I also like the string stuff (although agree with Selters
that it might be a bit less dominant in the mix)... great lyrics...deep stuff!

like the
almost indian feel here, bouncy indian approach with the violins. Plus the
guitar has that nice bronco style.
Like the wisdom to the words as well.

Nice, like the daringness not heard at least as I can remember the strings
before in your songs.

Thanks for sharing, cool creativness, the wonders of Jampacks :)

Down the road........
Good quality song writing, refreashing acousic lead guitar, that acoustic lead has an exceptional feel to it. I would maybe turn up the rythm just a bit, vocals raw and natural, but well worded, and cared for. Abrupt ending, ..... overall good music.........good feel.......-HGB

Very Boss Like!
I've been listening to a lot of Springsteen this past week.
I think he'd be proud of this one. I really dig the overall vibe and
philosophy here. Your guitar leads and vocals are very soulful indeed.
Rock on down the road!
