Just a little soundscape I put together with some native drums, didge, flute and some other stuff thrown in.

unusual and good
I like the little breaks here and there letting this breathe under the hot
desert sun. Sounds of melting mirage-flute, percussion, and didge made
this exotic indeed. The bass-drum sounded almost too "metallic" though,
didn't quite fit with the more native/natural instruments. I would have
used a bass drum sound that was softer.

So where'd you get the flute and didge sounds? Very crisp recordings.

Welcome to Macjams, glad your stuff got approved!

Flute and didge sounds?
Thanks for your comments and the welcome! It's great to be with all of
you. I was puzzling over the bass drum sound that might fit in this piece;
I might try a softer drum sound like you suggested just to hear it that
way. I was torn between wanting some sort of dramatic (action movie?)
drum that was big yet sharp, like feet stomping. Perhaps I'll just use
stomping feet? I found the didge sounds from a Google search; I ended
up at a music shop site that specializes in them. I downloaded some of
their examples, cut them up & bionically modified them for this. The flute
is stock GB with my own FX settings played with some pitch and mod
wheel stuff.

Nicely constructed..

Glad you got your uploads got here eventually, safe and sound.

It has a more eastern quality in the flute melodies .. nice contrast to
the underlying aborigine soundscape - was that some dingos barking,
a didge doing an impression of dingos barking?

Drums sounded fine to me at first .. then I heard 2nd listen the bit
when they get a bit too 'ricochet' sounding .. no biggie. I liked all the
other percussion.

Google'd to get didge sounds! That's cheating !! ;o)

Welcome to MJs.

Hey, lets not tell Scotsman that Macjams has acquired (at great expense!)
a Didgeridoo master of very high caliber (punintended), who makes his
own Didges and plays them too! And his arm can be twisted to do collabs
(after he finishes mine, that is!) Check out this amazing artist right here
(http://www.macjams.com/artist/didge-ache), and his new CD is here,
BTW (http://thelostrecords.com/didge-ache-artist.html).
Drakonis, no relation or even close species, just a friend :-)

A very fine piece of work - sound I could lie back and indulge in!
You've built some lovely textures here and the textural shifts are so well
placed that they propel the whole thing along well - you've got an
excellent creative instinct for sure.
