Description
An electronica reinvention of my tune "Saving Grace". First a tempo change, then a shift in key. New music for a new mood.

I needed to be bathed in waves of synthetic whispers and layers of squelching digital foaminess. For no other reason that to cleanse my tried and tired mind.

Safe is the result. Best in headphones.

I may never leave this place.

uh?
I liked this, but I didn't quite know what to make of it! Is it a skit or a peice of electronica with a knowing wink towards the more cheddar end of the market? the swirling chords are lovely and the progressions are very satisfying, but the tones themselves are a bit cheesy!!! I don't mean to be critical here, cos I really liked it, but was left feeling like I'd OD'd on a huge chocolate cake...

Thanks for the comments
I'm glad you distinguished between the composition and execution. I generally write my tunes using a MIDI authoring tool which I then import into GarageBand. All the "cheesy" sounds are stock GB software instruments. I'm not a pro so the less-than-natural sounds don't bug me so much.

I aprreciate your ears.

not trance
this is not trance or anything near the dance music genre...more like NEWAGE if you ask me...or even space rock or something...overall its not bad...its got alot of thematic elements to it...also posseses those classic rock 70's synth quality riffs...which i enjoy. Not Bad for a days work...or for however long it took you...word of advice though...don't use key words that don't exactly fit the musical sound!

Good insight
Thanks Matty B. I guess that me being in a trance while writing this tune doesn't qualify it as Trance music - point taken. I like the New Age label, oddly enough. Seems like a good fit although I generally genre labels useless for anything other than pure form music.

Glad you enjoyed the noodling.

I like it
The parts complement each other well. I only have GB instruments as well and the appreciate the ingenuity it takes to make something sound good, and I think this works. Thanks for sharing :)

Wonderful Mix!
Loved the mix and especially what you added at about the mid point. With the name "SAFE" I was expecting something with a more calming effect. Has a distinct heart beat rhythm with winding sounds and great background music.
I always comment before I read anything about a tune so other comments don't influence what I hear in that moment. Even the name of a tune can influence how I listen to it.

Forced ukulele lessons in grade school threatened to forever destroy any chance of me growing to love and make music. Mercifully, the hatred of stringed instruments dissolved during adolescence, along with my innocence and respect for authority. Ente... [see more]
