Waterfalls and Morning Dawns

 Genre: Acoustic

A new love song expressing a caregiving mentality.

A lot of firsts for me on this one....This is my first attempt at micing, recording, and mixing a djembe along with my first true acoustic track (no synth, pads, or samples). I hope you like it!

The sun's on its way, giving the morning
How could we feel this way?
Watching the timeless passing,
slipping away
Tell me where to go from here

When everything feels like a waterfall
and every thought is dreaming of the moment spent with you

When it's far too late, when the day is said and done
I'll be there in your heart
It's been too long
since I could hold you before dawn

The night brings the tide,
Wishing so strongly it would be arlight
Holding on tightly with tears in your eyes
I promise to hold you until we see the light
Living through life personified

When every day feels like a waterfall
When every eye is watching you,
remember who you are

When every day is like the one before
When tears are shed to find the strength
to live this life's encore
When every day is like a waterfall
and every thought is dreaming of the moment spent with you

Djembe jams!
I think the Djembe sounds great! Really adds some nice depth and drive to the song. The guitars strumming is also very driving, and the vocals are beautiful--love the way you flip up into falsetto for the high parts. So, the overall feel of the song really sits well with me. However, I have kind of a tough time with the lyrics--I like the sentiments expressed, but some of the phrases are confusing to me--like "life personified," or "when tears are shed to find the strength to live this life's encore." By the time I get to the end of that line, I'm kind of lost. I guess I'm craving somewhere a line or chorus that's a little more of a hook--somethng I don't have to think so hard to follow, something that will stick in my head more readily. Then again, maybe I'm just in a lazy mood this late at night.... Awesome overall sound, challenging lyrics.

Beautiful song
Love the djembe and voice. Beautiful melody while very mainstream. Hopefully, the djembe gives a spicy twist and your voice is quite enthralling. Well done, man.

A waterful of acoustic strumming
What a marvelous track. I almost missed it. Wonderfully uplifting acoustic guitar, nice dynamics, and I like the vocal highs, the chromatic yet skipping melody. I dig the idea of the hand percussion, but it is way too loud in my studio speakers, and doesn't have enough variation/pertsonlaity by the end. This song is worth perfecting. Consider adding a bass line. Perhaps more, earlier chorus harmonies. Great tune.

Love your voice!
Really nice job with the djembe, (yes, those are real buggers to mic!) although it could have melted back into the mix once your voice entered. The guitars had nice drive, and the whole piece had real, uplifting energy! I did notice an absence of low end (like a bass guitar) which, played in the same energetic style, would have added a bit more power to the whole piece. I eally think you have a wonderful sounding voice; clear, well-tuned and earnest.

your experimenting. And I hope you have tweaked these songs I've been listening to. What a voice. Thanks.
