Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.

You know how bad my voice sounds,
well it feels just as bad.

You know this baseball game of ours
comes up from the youth.
That means the boys.
And if you're a boy and grow up
and know how to play ball,
then you come to the boys
you see representing themselves today
in your national pastime.

The only real game, I think.
in the world is baseball.

As a rule, some people think
that if you give them a football, or a baseball,
or something like that,
naturally they're athletes right away.

But you can't do that in baseball.
You've gotta start from way down at the bottom,
when you're six or seven years of age.

You can't wait until you're fifteen or sixteen.
You gotta let it grow up with you.
And if you're successful, and you try hard enough,
you're bound to come out on top,
Just like these boys have come to the top now.

There's been so many lovely things said about me,
and I'm glad that I've had the opportunity
to thank everybody.

trippy trippy
I don't know anything about baseball. But if the game is as crazy and creative as this song, I should start learning the rules :-) Brilliant lyrics, boris. This must have cost you gallons of boose to get that old uncle's voice recorded. Unreal...

Creative and different!
We don't really have baseball over here ... at least not to any great extent ... but I'm sure if we did this would be its anthem.

Heh Nice
Almost reminds me of William Burroughs, the sound effects are excellent, good experimental stuff, atmospheric and intimate at the same time, kinda freaky baby!

Wow, you sure know how to play with these words.
You take an old time speech and turned it on its ear. Ending was a little freaky. (I s'pose that's what you were going for, but even more freaky than I expected.)

I too only know this much about baseball, sorry .. Babe who? (I thought
that was a chocolate bar or summat) .. had to do some
research ..

Song is a nice wee trippy, tribute, groovy and quite
freaky with the effects. I got a sense of it
bursting into "The Joker" or "What a wonderful world" sometimes ..'cos, to me his voice is reminscent of
Louis Armstrong.
