Sleep Well Tonight

 Genre: Ambient

This will be the final piece on my forthcoming collection entitled "Anomaly". It was inspired by my feelings as I decended into sleep. It represents the journey into
unconsciousness. The middle is foggy and somewhat repetitive, leading into the ending, which is in a darker minor key... that final slip into the mysterious realm of sleep. It runs 9 minutes. I hope you enjoy it. I welcome honest feedback.

i like this, very soothing; yet somehow has a slightly disturbing overtone when it gets to the final sleep stage (that would be REM stage - are you having nightmares lately?)

really nice

Thank you!
Thanks for the comment Michael2, I really appreciate it. You're the first one to honor me so. Yes, the ending is decidedly darker- representing the final decent into unconsciousness. No, no nightmares lately. Sleeping well these days. Cheers! And thank-you again!

This is very mysterious, yet in the beginning it is almost peaceful. Neat style. Love to hear more.

"Sleep Well Tonight" Feedback. Thank you!
Thanks RocketMan- Again!

This turned out to be something more than I envisioned and I got a bit carried away. But, I let it do what I felt it wanted to do- that's how I work. It's long but it is quite a personal piece that came from my moments drifting away to sleep. More to come like this for sure.

Thanks Again!

This started off very nicely, love the strong bass and flanged sparklies... however, by about the 2/5 mark, I was beginning to hope for some kind of change, either in the chords, or in the instrumentation, it began to get repetitive (and I normally like long droning ambient stuff, e.g. my "Ember Rekindled" piece.) Maybe some little arpeggio that only shows up every couple minutes or so? Dunno, it seemed to want just a little bit more. Hope this vague critique is helpful. And welcome to Macjams! I'm off to listen to another of yours.

Sleep Well Tonight Comment- Thanks!
Thanks Drakonis- I appreciate your feedback. I tend to agree with you, "Sleep Well Tonight" IS a bit dry in places. I have intended to shorten it and add to it some. However, others have said 'No, we like the simple, repetitive nature of it which causes a hypnotic effect'- - so I don't know. Most say they like it from about the half-way point when it does change. Anyway... thanks again for the comment. I'll go listen to your stuff now!

I am a solo 'artist', but I use that term loosely. I come from the world of radio production, writing and producing commercials and promos for over ten years. Music didn't touch me profoundly until the rise of New Wave. I was spellbound by the limitl... [see more]
