Description
A brief history of 'I love My Mac - V2'
by No Flies On Pie

The original song 'I Love My Mac' by Daphne Kalfon had been around a while and I'd always thought it a cute little number that could work in several different genres.

Jump to November 2005 and I'd just got a hold of my new Quad Powermac and an upgraded ProTools rig. I wanted to get into something quick and thought I'd ask Daphne if it was OK to do a cover. So I took it upon myself to 'Pie-orize' the thing. Just for fun and to play with my new toys. Daphne was more than happy to oblige. Thing is, I dragged my feet and by the time I was ready to post here at MacJams Daphne was launching the song on iTunes as a fully commercial release. That meant no free downloads from Pie.

To cut an already long tale short Daphne and I agreed terms for my version to have it's own commercial release on iTunes. Hence 'I Love My Mac - V2'. So although I am prevented from posting the finished version here at MacJams I can give you a teaser.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Electro Estate for doing a great remix. The Electro Estate Mix is also available on iTunes. As is the Live Mix. I would also like to thank Lisa Purdy AKA 'Ledebutant' for her vocal performance in 'I Love My Mac'. It's been emotional.

Pie & Daphna...
talk about two powerhouses... this is a great teaser (and just cutting down a song to be a teaser is itself quite an art, and you've got that down!) Wonderful fun, and definitely worth bringing up both Daphne's and your talents for some of the newer members to discover (and EE & LeDeb too!)

Funniest thing I've heard today.
This is really good. Not only is it funny as f***, but it's also extremely well-produced. Frequently novelty songs are an excuse to have crappy production, but this is truely pro quality.

Hehe. More than anything, I appreciate your humor, Pie.

Although I'm still pretty sure you've been banned for life from the diplomatic corps, perhaps you can do their recruitment spots for them. lol

Excellent cover.

Wheee!!!!
OK, this is just great!

It's fun, I can relate to it, and holy crap, the production is stellar!

You clearly don't need me to tell you that, so I'll just point out that even though I was above you in the ratings for one brief shining day (yes, I captured a screen shot of it!), I am about to give you some stellar votes which will make it even less likely I'llever pass you again!

A teaser!
So I went back and read everyone else's posts and discovered that this is actually a truncated teaser for the full version available on iTunes. Tobin even helpfully provided a direct link. You are now richer by whatever percentage of 99 cents you've worked out with Daphne and Apple!

Thanks for a great fun tune!

~Brian

Thanks to Ledeb!
Pie, it's funny that I found this tune--and you--through Ledeb on Twitter! (I'm B6s, not a very active user, though.) This is such a highly energized update-teaser on Daphna's classic, impossible to not love your studio work here.
