Lyrics
Montgomery California..
music and lyrics, Jason Whitman, and Allen Dean, 2007.

Dry as a bone
Hotter than the fourth of July
And that's the way I like it.
I shook you up
And I'll shake you down
I am your worst nightmare.

If you want some, step on up--glad to know ya.
If you want hell-- come to
Montgomery California.

Like an undertaker
I come for my due
And that's the way I like it.
I'll walk on up
And take you down
You won't even hear me comin'.

If you want some, step on up--glad to know ya.
If you want hell-- come to
Montgomery California.

(solo)

If you want some-- get in line, take a number
If you want some, come to
Montgomery California.

Whoa...
Like a herd of stampeding Mastodons (which is a good thing in a metal tune). Nice guitar chops. Great vocal delivery. Nice work on your new bass bro Jason (although it could be brought a tad forward in the mix)! Surely one of the better metal offerings here at MJ.

Rock on gentlemen!
said 4364 days ago (July 6th, 2007)
yeah, about the bass....
it was a little back in the mix, because i was tired, and lost my ability to hear the upper frequencies...
maybe i will remix, or better yet wait till we get signed and re-record....thanks for your comments, we love em, and it makes us feel like we really can ROCK
said 4364 days ago (July 6th, 2007)
imagine... .
what we could do if we weren't 2,000 miles apart and could actually practice and really hash out the tunes!!!

Downright ...
.. mean and dirty. Thumpingly awesome .. a great tradition to resuscitate. Chunky playing with nice
squeal (artificial harmonics) touches. The lead parts
dotted here and there blend nicely as acompaniment and not dominating, which is great. Nice use of stops too ..
vocals are excellent from you both. Main solo is
sweet too. As I mentioned in chat to Jason earlier, I
was wondering how on earth you'ld sing "Montgomery
California" so it would not only fit, but be worthy/
cathcy hook for a chorus .. and you pulled it off ..
and the classic extra pause bit between Montgomery ...
California near the end is yet another great touch.

I think the mix is fine (but then I tend also to be
light on bass to some ears)

Kudos.

the vocals are all me, brother... i was doing my bestest zakk wyled impersonation on this entire track.. but, as always, your praise and constructive comments always make it worthwhile to pick up my axe, and make some shred!!!!!!!!

the key to finding the place...
is to look for a small little town called "sacramentgomery, calibama"
it is a little, loud community on the border of insanity and mahem!
when you get there, we'll be waiting!
thanks for stopping by! "... glad to know ya!"
