I'm sure a strat would work
I was using a "Lawson" guitar that I bought on Ebay for like 130 bucks including shipping... It took a little work to get it right and I change the bridge pickup for a DiMarzio Evolution. I think L. is doing a good job at at screwing my guitar sound... ;) and this one is not too bad. I love the keyboard he plays in this song though (that's unusual).
