what?
Sorry, tried listening over and over, but Safari kept crashing with an illegal instruction. I am not sure what is illegal about this song. Wait, now there is a siren outside, and I hear a helicopter over my house! OK, what did I do? Oh "X"! Oh oh...

Hey, Bill
This is great, just too short. More, more!! :-) I know very little about math, but I'm sure glad you do. :-)

Micheal's CBGB THEME http://www.macjams.com/song/42594 reminded me of a little unfinished song i'd made up years ago based on the chord progression D E A D B E E F... I even had the start of some lyrics for the meoldy: "Dead beef enjoying the sun".

i guess it's still not finished.

the song was made long before i knew anything about hexadecimal. a friend of mine years ago at DEC used to write DEADBEEF into memory to flag it as uninitialized. apparently that idea got into IBM's firmware somehow http://www.flickr.com/photos/absoblogginlutely/131368565/

anyway

maybe someone would like turn this unfinished ditty into something pretty.

thanks

Ahem... back to the song
OK, I cleared the cache (cow) and it seems to play (misty) for me now.

So, you really go for those in jokes, Moof? How many people on Macjams are going to get the reference? One? Two? Certainly not 68,000! But I see you have your tongue firmware planted in your cheek with this. I guess I should nil (not) point our reference two words of wisdom. I don't think the human brain was meant to grok your humor. If anyone tried to stare at your digraph above, they would most likely snow-crash.

But I digress. I "got" your "odd" Mac assembly instruction reference, and enjoyed the tune as well. Took me back to the old days, ahhh. I even called Motorola and asked for my free copy of the 68020 reference manual, since I had a Mac II back then. Thanks for sharing your inner geek!

ttfn,
Drakonis

Speaking of random geekness, did you try out my free MacJams software toy yet? (http://www.macjams.com/forum/viewtopic.php?forum=5;showtopic=125350) Hopefully it has no lurking dead-beef instructions in it!

Good old days
First, Draks puns are killing me over here- not literally, of course. I probably won't go out laughing THAT hard, but.. Speaking of computer good old days, I just ditched the OS X calculator widget and got me a copy of the genu-wine 1984 calculator. George.. George??

Smokey, I always love your stuff, and this one is no exception. I don't get the joke either, but I feel better about that knowing I'm in the company of Michael2. I wish this was about 4x longer - you know, enough time to get up and dance around to it a little bit! Thanks!
