Lyrics
Free Yourself
By Sean O'Malley
(c) 2008

Your head is swimming in a darkened sea
no make believe has felt so real
With faded colors turing black and white
Your mid wrestles with it day and night

(Chorus)
You need to free yourself
from the past and the pains and the ones you've blamed
Ask yourself
"Would I know what to do, just to make it through?"

You never missed a beat you never wained
But all you know now is how to point the blame
There's something in us all that gets us through
You need to find your cause once you do

You will free yourself
from the past and the pains and the ones you've blamed
Because you asked yourself
"Would I know what to do, just to make it through?"

(Bridge)

Now that you found someone to help you through
A certain someone who tells you what to do
Time to fly, raise up your hands, make them understand
See it through and make it all come true.

Chorus

A hit
Agree with Len. Give this to Robbie Williams or something. It has a great hook at the chorus. "You need to free yourself".

Telling you, this is a hit.

Great chorus
Just the message I needed on a day like today. Definately hits a chord with the lyrics. Thanks for the download....this one will be playing on for a while in my head.

Nicely Done
I like the approach you've taken here. It sounds good.

My only suggestions would be to spend a little bit of time to add some accents to your static drum track and to slowly fade in the lead guitar part into the mix as you approach the guitar break. Right now the vocal is competing with the guitar part a bit. ;)

Cool track - sounds good
I'd like a little info production info - Logic - GB? Are you playing everything? Good set of lyrics and vocal performance. Everything else sounds good too - but it does get a little clogged when everything is in the mix at full.

Really enjoyable
Nice layering, word smithing and overall basic projection. The other side is that the acoustic guitar didn't seem to be a clean and clear as it could have been and there was missing a midrange crisp snap to it. Try, in the master channel EQ a little massaging of mid gain and range for alternative effects to the final mix.

This is not attempt at all, but a great song. Even with the above critique I'm taking a copy for the tunes index. Good work. Don't stop.

Great words
Very pro. What a great voice you have. Really into the harmonies; is that all you or is there a compadre? Whatever; it's superb.

Guitar is top notch, nice use of pads too. Fades a bit quickly tho', wish it was longer.

I'm freein' myself...

Great message and very unique recording elements on the lead guitar. Your acoustics sound warmer with each recording. Your vocal is always at the top of any singer around.

Love how you kick in the beat with the lyric "never missed a beat".

Most of all, your production of the "song" is right on here - not too long, tight and right.

Way to go again, and I will be hunting you down with my cane soon enough!
