Description
Recorded a few months ago. Was thinking about adding some harmony to the second chorus? Also need to resolve the ending.

Lyrics
You speak into his ego
He softly strokes yours
You hold tight to your delusions
You kid yourself

You’ve forgotten the challenge
Of finding the truth
You revel in your comfort
But there’ll be news for you

You know it in your heart
Yet still deceive yourself

You told everything you ever wanted to get lost
And everything you ever needed was the cost
Your ego robbed you blind while you claimed you stared it down
And the walls you built around yourself are crumbling now

thanks for
stopping by Feter. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes I need to just record an open chord on the banjo at the end. Lazy me! Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll do a second version with the harmonies so you can hear exactly what I mean.

Hey Mo!
I love this. My favorite instrumentation by far, and it's wonderful to hear it in a different setting like this. I like the words too.
Good job.

I love the acoustic sound! My ideal mix is banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass, and violin. I don't have an acoustic bass. Wish I knew a killer violin player! My brother is learning... Glad you enjoyed this.

awesome
It sounds great, man.
It all works together. nice melody, good singing, good instrumentation.
If you need a fiddle part for one of your songs let me know... I'm not "killer" though!

awesome
If you feel creative and want to try to add some fiddle to it that would be awesome!! And more than that, if you ever record a fiddle tune that you want accompanied by banjo or mandolin or djembe send it my way. I'm really just learning those two stringed instruments, I guess you would say piano is my main instrument, but I like those others more. I am pretty proficient on the djembe, but I don't know how to record it well... I'll start a thread about that. Thanks, and glad you enjoyed it.

good acoustic sound here
your voice is what captured me though. also, really enjoyed the lyrics. if there is any gripe, it's with echo on the voice. a hair too much.

great song for a rainy saturday morning.

Thanks for your words. I agree, I think these lyrics could speak to just about anyone at points. And yes it would have been a shame if you did not listen to this tune. =) Thanks for checking it out, glad you enjoyed it.

Re Ego
Nice touch with the banjo. I think it draws attention to the vocals initially which helps engage you throughout the song. also I think the vocalls sound fine ...pretty good actually w/ the reverb
