VARIATIONS ON A THEME BY BACH (by Gisli)

20 Variations on a theme by Johann Sebastian Bach. The theme is an aria, So oft ich meine Tobackspfeife (BWV 515a), in D minor, written in 1725.

The variations are much inspired by the baroque era and Bach’s own style of writing. The main protoype regarding form and structure are the Goldberg Variations

True to the baroque and in particular, what Bach devised as "keyboard instructions" for the Count. Superbly played!

Lovely classical, baroque music ..

my only critique was it sounded 'too midi' .. in that the timing seemed too correct .. as if snap to grid 1/16 (or more) had been used... and I think thats ok for pop music .. but on classical pieces it sounds too regimented.

Still awesome variations, playing. Nice harpsichord sound too.

Listened to
a lot of this growing up in my Dad's house. He loved baroque. I like it but not real fond of Harpichord personally. But the playing is very cool. Like APB I could have used a tiny bit more "swing" to it.
