Do You Know Who She Is?(remix)

Get Flash to see this player.

This is one of the first songs I posted here at Macjams. Feedback at the time liked the song but thought that my friend Tracy's vocal should be more upfront, with less effects and not doubled. So finally here is the remix where I tried to follow those guidelines. I do believe it sounds a lot better but leave it up to you for the final verdict.

So how have you been now baby
Did you see what you wanted to see
I heard you made the rounds, all over town
With a girl who looks surprisingly like me

I sat with her the other day
We didn't know each other then
She said that you were down and
Wearing a frown
Well I didn't mean to get under your skin

Do you sing to her when the shadows come calling?
Do you cling to her when your soul is crying?
Do you know who she is?

Well it's been a long, long time
I used to see your eyes in the sky
But I could never see your soul unfold
and fly so high

We made love by firelight, those logs were burning bright
But it all means nothing now because I nearly died from the cold

Great to see you here - hope you'll stick around for the MJ Reunion Festival from Feb 1 to 14).

I think I may have been someone who may have commented on this - it does sound familiar. Cool folkie tune with an authentic feel. Tracey's vocal nice and up front.

Cheers from Oz,

cool, sounds great!
Nice fresh sound. The vocal does still sound doubled, but not too much. Maybe there's a slight short echo on it, but I think it would be nice with the same sound as the lead guitar which is nice and crisp and clean. But that said, it's still really great. Good songwriting, too!

This has a good live performance feel, great vocals from Tracy and good supporting guitar work. You are ready to hit the folk/blues circuit now I reckon!

Oh yeah...
Much better Tom! A more natural sound that befits the blues.

So good bro. I've missed you man. Like Neil, I invite you to stick around if you're able.

Be well!

Nice Groove
to this. I like the 'live' sound of the vocals. She did a great performance.
