The 80s Song (MJRF)

Get Flash to see this player.

This is the first song I ever did in GarageBand. It's the very first tune I did in GB and I did it within hours of getting iLife back in 2004. It's all loops, except for the vocals, of course. I used to have it up here many moons ago, but took it down. This isn't a redo, really, just a repost.

Just a little nostalgia until, hopefully, I can get a new tune or a newly redone tune up at some point during the festival.

Absolutely Enjoyed This!!!
Through and through, this song is tuff!! Definitely took me back to the 80's when I was teenaged kid in Houston, Texas cruising Westheimer in the Montrose area wearing my parachute pants and sleeveless shirts trying to talk to the Madonna look alike ladies with this blasting out of my best friends Trans Am radio...Dang...we were soo cool then and this song is soo cool now!! Great Post!!

I remember when I first heard this song I thought: yeah, here's someone like me (musically). If we lived in the same city, or State, it would not surprise me would we have a band together. This song is really good for being with loops, although the string loops sounds a bit over-used these days! :) The vocals are really smooth and mellow.

The 80's Song is back at macjams. My life is complete and the hole you ripped in the Universe with your flux capacitor is now healed. Now excuse me while I go and flashdance.

This is so cool
hearing early posts of some of the regulars. Nice vocals over well chosen loops. I think these loops have gotten overused because they are good ones!

Perfect for ... er ... those of us of a particular age
Would this be a good time to admit I can still do Rubik's Cube? But only if I rely on unconscious muscular memory ... as soon as I think about what I'm doing I get stuck.

Loops it may be, but someone with real musical ability knows how to put them together creatively. It's a lush and coherent landscape, and your voice (though a little tentatively mixed) suits it beautifully.

A real "America" (the band) feel
Joe, I am embarrassed to admit that I don't remember this one. Kind of America meets Pet Shop Boys :) All loops eh - very well done. What Rebsie sadi ...... well, not the bit about Rubik's Cube

Very nicely done. This really has the 80s feel to it, and totally reminds me of Saturday nights way back when! Your vocal on this is nicely done, too. Great arrangement, terrific sound, and great vocal delivery. Nicely done. Peace.
